Lead Product Manager

The Lead Product Manager (LPM) has a key role in driving the strategy and management of the BSI’s retail product and ecommerce function within BSI’s Knowledge Solutions (KS) business. The LPM will influence and articulate the “big picture” whilst being accountable for customer research, business case creation, and product delivery. They will act as the “voice of the customer” ensuring customer requirements are at the heart of all product development.

The LPM will be responsible for:

  • business ownership and the strategic oversight of the BSI ecommerce strategy – the figurehead in aligning direction with the commercial strategy and ensuring commercial targets are front and centre in the team’s execution
  • as figurehead for ecommerce, effectively communicating the strategy and projects that engage across the KS division and, where appropriate, the BSI Group
  • ensuring the retail offering is embedded in new opportunities and innovation work across the product team, Knowledge Solutions and more broadly across BSI Group.

The Lead Product Manager manages the strategy and roadmap, alongside on-going development, management and effective performance of the Knowledge Solutions retail presence and e-commerce service. The right candidate will demonstrate project management rigour and product management creativity and requiring both technical literacy and commercial acumen.

The LPM will work closely with the Senior Product Management team to input into the vision and strategy of the Product team. They will work with Marketing to improve revenue, SEO performance, customer engagement and satisfaction while ensuring alignment of these services with BSI’s subscription services and other products. They will provide thought leadership on digital and ecommerce strategy and delivery.

The LPM will be line manager to a small team, while also a matrix manager, leading project teams formed from all streams of the BSI business – Marketing, IT, Content Solutions, Customer Relations, Sales and Standards Development – to drive effective performance and meet customer need.
