As the leading business standards company, at BSI we work with organizations to help shape standards of excellence worldwide.  We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Standards department in Chiswick, working as a Product Manager within the Product Platform & Content team.

About the role

As Product Manager, you’ll join a small high profile team playing a key role in the initiation, development and management of a suite of highly profitable online products. As the “voice of the customer”, you’ll ensure that customer requirements remain at the heart of our product development and management activities, whilst ensuring competitiveness and profitability.

This is a multi-faceted, technical role that requires you to consider and articulate the strategic “big picture”, whilst being involved in the fine detail of requirement gathering, formulation of business/project plans and product design, development and launch.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll have direct experience of working with online products/services for professional audiences, either as product manager (or related role) or as an advanced user of these products in an information management role. You’ll have the vision required to think creatively, coupled with a realistic and pragmatic approach to turning strategy into tangible deliverables.

Also you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications abilities with outstanding leadership, persuasion, influencing and motivational skills with experience working with technical teams to articulate business requirements.

In addition you’ll:

  • Have experience working in the STM publishing world
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of creating integrated, multi-content products
  • Have Pragmatic Marketing certification – or similar training/accreditation
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
  • At least Intermediate preferably (advanced) skills inmost Microsoft Office products
  • Have a genuine interest in publishing, the internet & social networking
