The Global Corporate Services Digital Experience and Platforms team, as part of GCS’s Global Digital Capabilities, Transformation & Operations team, is focused on Delivering Innovation, Accelerating Agility, and Empowering Customers through breakthrough digital products, platforms and experiences designed to delight Card Members and Programs Administrators. 
 
Our Digital Experience & Products team design, develops and scales across GCS high-impact, customer-centric and personalized digital experiences across the customer lifecycle and adapts to the evolving needs of our Card Members and Program Administrators continuing to build and deliver a seamless membership experience across platforms and products.
 
The Product Manager serves as a key lead within the Digital Program Management Experience Team and will be responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end lifecycle for features or products in whole. The Product Manager’s focus may include strategic user messaging capabilities, growing the loyalty experience, optimizing user onboarding, developing API strategy and managing company profiles.  The Product Manager will be responsible for innovating on behalf of our customers and creating product journeys that engage our clients and competitively differentiate American Express’ digital experiences overseeing the vision and execution of digital features within the Program Management Experience for GCS across globally.
 
The Product Manager will collaborate with business leaders and partners to support and help create a compelling product vision, strategy and roadmap, and drive products and features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment. The Product Manager has responsibility for decision making and prioritization for their products, working with marketing, design, engineering, and servicing leaders to convert the product vision and strategy into a well-managed product roadmap with an iterative release cycle with the customer in mind. The Product Manager will participate actively in all phases of the process along with cross-functional teams.
 
Core Responsibilities
  • Ownership and accountability of the vision, requirements and performance of the Program Management experience for GCS customers across multiple products, which may include messaging capabilities, loyalty experience, user onboarding, API strategy and company profile management.
  • Build and actively manage a product backlog of features and capabilities that are groomed and prioritized in close collaboration with the business and development teams. Facilitate resolution of risks, issues and changes.
  • Champion the product vision and roadmap for payments and self-servicing with key stakeholders and engineering teams
  • Identify opportunities and provide input on product vision, strategy, roadmap, and features, including external benchmarking and keeping a pulse on digital trends and customer preferences
  • Full participation in and support of agile practices and ceremonies to reinforce agile development and incremental delivery
  • Deep engagement and consultation with various business teams to understand current and future needs for product enhancements
  • Own and oversee the resolution of production issues
  • Coordinate with project teams and across the wider Web Experience & Products team and other dependent teams to ensure timelines and requirements are aligned
  • Establish the product’s goals and reviewing success metrics to achieve commercial success, create ROI analyses and optimization recommendations and develop appropriate tracking and reporting to measure performance post – launch to support evaluation of future investments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development.
  • Passion for creating best-in-class products and customer experiences that are user-centric
  • Technical fluency – an ability to clearly describe tradeoffs with users and engineers about certain decisions & good balance with business acumen with a proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset;
  • Highly organized – you are great at research and documenting your learnings
  • Loves dealing with fast pace, changing needs, and limited resources.
  • The ability to set a high bar for your team and empower them to achieve great results
  • A “driver” personality – constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration.
  • Proven experience with agile (scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and software development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment;
  • A BA/BS preferably in CS or technical field.
