Position Summary:
The newly formed Innovation Team within NYeC is seeking an Innovation Manager who will have responsibility for the NYeC technologies supporting the SHIN-NY. This role will work to develop enhancements as well as new ideas for the existing SHIN-NY infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a driven and committed team player, providing continuous, high-quality support to the Innovation Team operated within NYeC. The Innovation Team fulfills existing organizational contractual obligations as well as develops product solutions enhancing existing technologies. This team is also charged with researching new, emerging technologies in the support in NYeC mission. The successful candidate must be flexible, responsive, a solid multi-tasker, polished and professional, and have a passionate dedication to the triple aim. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Innovation and will be operated out of the Albany office location.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:
• Innovation Management
o Working with VP of Innovation to develop and manage the innovation strategy roadmap;
o Understand, prioritize and communicate emerging standards in healthcare interoperability technology in the chosen delivery mechanism (e.g. building a business case, writing a white paper, etc.), with focus on being able to provide comments and report back to NYeC on standards in the area of technology solutions;
o Build subject matter expertise on emerging trends and technologies that may be considered by NYeC and for its stakeholders; including FHIR, Telehealth, Blockchain, NLP/ML as examples;
o Develop processes for the launch of and the operations of day to day execution of the next iteration of Digital Health Innovation Lab;
o Partner with program management for the day to day execution of innovation roadmap pilots, especially in the areas of new data sources to enhance overall SHIN-NY offerings and the emerging solutions for patient access and engagement;
o Coordinate with and act as a consultant to the NYS Qualified Entities (QEs), to understand and provide recommendations, industry and technology insight for their innovation programs;
o Monitor project milestones and own innovation deliverables for the NYeC/DOH contract by collecting updates, tracking possible barriers and risks that may affect overall timelines;
o Recognize and escalate any issues with projects that may compromise the success of NYeC or the QEs in meeting innovation goals;
o Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external (QEs, DOH, partners);
• Workgroup Support: Utilize organizational and coordination skills to provide general support to the newly formed Innovation Advisory Group, other workgroups and advisory groups
• Communication: Clearly communicate with others (QEs, management, NYS Department of Health and colleagues); draft and prepare correspondences and other documents as necessary for the operations of innovation projects;

• Develop progress reports for the Vice President of Innovation and other senior staff;
• Other items as assigned.

Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree, MPA, MPP, or MPH preferred;
• A minimum of 5 years’ product management experience in health technology or related field;
• Experience and knowledge of Health Information Exchange (HIE), electronic health record (EHR) market, and/or interoperability strongly preferred;
• Prior technology / software product management related work experience strongly preferred;
• Ability to develop and manage project and product plans by coordinating with leadership and key stakeholders;
• Ability to successfully prioritize and provide accurate follow up on all issues and correspondence;
• The ability to be proactive and take initiative by being a highly engaged creative thinker and problem solver;
• Ability to create compelling business cases for new projects in the chosen mechanism (e.g. white papers, proposals, presentations, etc.);
• Ability to work with colleagues and supervisors in dual office locations (NYeC’s NYC and Albany offices);
• Excellent organizational and written communications skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
