We’ve kicked off 2019 to a great start, having just raised £26m in our Series-B funding round led by Barclays and Santander. We’re now looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us accelerate our reaching even more UK businesses with finance solutions and launching cross-border bank-fintech partnerships.
Who you’ll be working with
You’ll become the Product Lead for one of our newly created horizontal squads.
While you’ll have the support of the wider Tech team (Engineering, Data, Design and Product – meet the Product/Design duo of Jordan & Mike, who may or may not be famous bloggers), you’ll be dedicated to achieving the aims of your squad. These cross-functional squads support a project, product or even function (e.g. Retention), and act like a mini-business within MarketInvoice.
Customers will still be at the centre of everything you do as you listen, ask, challenge and prioritise to make sure your squad – composed of individuals (Tech & non-Tech) from all around the business – provide our current and future customers with the most value.
At MarketInvoice, the opportunity for growth is as big as your ambition. Whether that’s progressing to a leadership role in your team or exploring an entirely new career path within the business. Maybe this job is part of your journey to starting your own business one day. We have big dreams and we expect you to have the same.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll make it your business to understand what our customers actually care about. Our Sales and Customer Success Teams will help you get started by taking you along to some their customer visits but you’ll quickly progress to leading customer research and interviews independently. You’ll know more about our customers than anyone else in the business.
You’ll ensure good feedback loops are in place and co-create a roadmap that support your squad’s goals. We’ll trust you to assess the strategic and technical impact of projects – bringing in data, customer feedback and whatever else you need to backup your decisions.
You’ll work closely with the rest of the Tech team to get buy-in for your squad’s roadmap and communicate the outcomes back to your area. This is a fast-paced environment with lots of moving pieces, so you’ll need to be flexible and quickly adapt your style based on the stakeholder group (e.g. Engineering, Sales).
You’ll be an important member of your squad, working alongside your Tech & non-Tech colleagues to build out project requirements, remove roadblocks, organise customer testing, support product marketing, and more. We’ll rely on you to help keep the squad focussed on delivering the best value to our customers.
Requirements
- Empathy – be able to listen, ask questions and easily put yourself into the shoes of our customers, internal teams, etc.
- Communication / interpersonal skills – be able to speak confidently with customers and manage multiple internal stakeholders
- Strategic thinking skills – be able to weigh up the pros and cons across financial and non-financial metrics, and defend your decision-making
- Data-driven – back up projects with data and follow through to make sure they’ve moved the needle we wanted them to
- Industry knowledge (financial services) – nice to have but not a requirement
Benefits
Not only will you have the opportunity to make a huge impact at one of the UK’s leading Fintechs, you’ll also have access to:
- Best in class share options scheme
- Amazon Kindle and unlimited book allowance
- Private health coverage and half price Virgin Active gym membership
- 25 days of annual leave per year, plus your birthday off
- A great office (complete with roof terrace, awesome facilities and a community feel) in the heart of vibrant Shoreditch
About us
One of “the nine hottest UK Fintech start-ups most likely to be worth £1 billion” – Business Insider
At MarketInvoice, our vision is for entrepreneurs to have the time to build the world we all want to live in.
We think entrepreneurs should be able to get on with growing their business, instead of having to worry about cash flow. That’s why we’re making it quick and easy to get funding through our invoice finance and business loans. We’re here to unlock the endless possibilities that arise when entrepreneurs have time to focus on what they love.
With our smart online platform, we were a Fintech before that was even a thing. But it’s not just about the tech. One of our biggest assets is our team of bright, talented and motivated people from all over the world. It’s one of the things our customers value most about us and one of the best things about working here.
We get stuff done quickly at MarketInvoice, with less talk and more action. It’s about thinking differently and not being afraid to do things that have never been done before.
Culture is a big deal for us. There’s always something happening, from fiercely competitive quiz nights to our Friday Town Hall meetings that roll into socialising on the roof terrace. We work, celebrate, share ideas, eat (lots of biscuits) and are always learning together as a team.
