Want to build the future of healthcare IT? We need our first Product Manager to lead the team in building our patient-centred communication platform!
We’re on a mission to bring patients and their healthcare teams together, to make patients healthier and the healthcare workforce happier. Our core product, Chain SMS, is used by over 1 in 4 GP surgeries in England, only one year after launching. Our team is now at the point where we need an experienced Product Manager to come and show us how to create a scalable product culture, fit for our growth plans.
A little more about us
- We believe healthcare is a communication industry – that’s where time is spent and where things go wrong
- Our vision is that anyone involved in a patient’s care can easily communicate with everyone else involved in that patient’s care, including the patient.
- Today, we help GP practices communicate with their patients and with their team
- We’re a small but successful team of 13 with a range of backgrounds in software and healthcare.
- We’re growing our team fast, and recently closed a Series A funding round with three of Europe’s top tech investors: Atomico, LocalGlobe and Entrepreneur First
What will our first Product Manager need to do?
To date we’ve all mucked in and done a bit of design, a bit of product management and a bit of QA. Sometimes it has worked, sometimes it hasn’t… Now we need someone to take hold of this role and show us how it’s done. Here’s what we think that looks like:
Building a product culture and company norms
- You’ll setup product processes to get us to our key milestones and allow us to scale. We’re growing from one product squad to four over the coming year
- You’ll work with the Head of Talent to grow a brilliant product team, and onboard new joiners to the product team so they’re contributing from day one
- You’ll bring product management expertise from previous roles to build on what currently works, and help us experiment with new methodologies
Product delivery
- You’ll align the product team around our weekly release cycles. This includes owning the backlog and ensuring that we’re prioritising the right work
- You’ll work with the whole team to test new features in our test-bed GP practices, deliver rapid iterative improvements and then rollout features to other practices
- You’ll make sure what we’re building is meeting both user needs and our wider product strategy
Product innovation
- We’re solving problems that haven’t been solved before. You’ll take our product vision and work out how to get us there
- By prioritising our work you’ll help us optimise, compromise, and get the team on board with what we’re working on
- You’ll collaborate with the team and our users, bringing in new ideas from other great products and helping us to innovate in every part of the user journey
What kind of person are we looking for?
- You have solid demonstrable experience (3+ years) in product management
- You have a proven track record of managing all aspects of a software product throughout its lifecycle
- You’re experienced in making key product decisions and effectively communicating recommendations to executive management
- You have a solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- You’re intelligent, both intellectually and emotionally and use a mixture of facts and empathy to inspire and motivate the team and wider business
- You’re obsessed about the user and always thinking about them in your decision-making
- You have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get things done
- You can work effectively with cross-functional product squads
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to explain the complex in a simple way, so anyone can understand you
