Associate UX Researcher

Accountable Results:

As an Associate UX Researcher, you must be able to translate business requirements into actionable items that impact the user experience and interactions with our products. You will lead activities centered around understanding the business goal and objectives, gathering user data, brainstorming and formulating design ideas, executing on designs, validating results, and measuring success. You will interact with both internal and external stakeholders to formulate product direction that leads to improving overall user experience.

Key Activities:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand business goals and objectives
  • Translate business goals and objectives into appropriate product requirements and research artifacts
  • Develop interview scripts, write and manage surveys, perform 1-on-1 & group interviews, and record qualitative data
  • Support and run research efforts to gather, analyze, and interpret qualitative data to present to internal stakeholders
  • Convert qualitative research data into user flows, JTBD, interaction models, and user interface specifications to support design and engineering efforts
  • Contribute to workshops and design sprints with the goal of educating and transforming the culture towards user-centered design and development
  • Support usability testing to validate designs
  • Establish standards and best practices that lead to improving the end-user’s interactions with our products
  • Practice Human-Centered Design methodologies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Working towards or have completed Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree in social or cognitive science (e.g., psychology, anthropology) or in a field of science related to HCI (e.g., information systems)
  • 1–3 years user experience research, including field studies
  • Exceptional soft-skills and empathy for end users
  • Need to be comfortable leading interviews
  • Portfolio of sample projects highlighting the intersection of UX research and design for web-based applications, mobile applications and consumer facing web sites and/or applications. This must include write-ups detailing process and approach
  • Proven experience showing clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals
  • Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills
  • An understanding of the latest design and technology trends and their role in a health care environment
