Senior Design Lab Consultant

The Design Lab team at CVS Health drives health behavior change innovations to support 70 million+ patients using our retail pharmacies on their path to better health. The Lab uses an interdisciplinary toolkit drawing from design thinking, public health, and behavioral science to generate fresh insights and incubate innovations. Projects span in-depth qualitative work to map user-health journeys in patient homes to prototyping new digital solutions and launching pilots in hundreds of stores. Examples of our programs and services include mapping the journey of patients managing depression, testing augmented reality to enhance healthcare consultations, and piloting interactive text messaging.

The Senior Design Lab Consultant will work within the Design Lab incubation arm helping to identify new health innovation opportunities, lead testing and prototyping with small samples of patients to finalize business cases and go to market strategies, and partner with cross-functional teams bring them to market. This individual will be part of an established diverse team with pharmacist, business, and healthcare backgrounds that drive program growth at an accelerated pace.

Additional Responsibilities of the Senior Design Lab Consultant
• Serving as incubation testing lead to lead incubation of insights, managing potential external vendors, vetting protocols with legal and clinical partners
• Aligning business leaders on progress and pivoting when necessary
• Creating high-quality leadership deliverables that captures potential opportunities, testing strategy, in-flight testing updates, final test results & recommended next steps
• Combining quantitative and qualitative data to build business cases for innovation opportunities and inform go/no go decisions
• Collaborating with other Lab members and colleagues to prototype solutions
• Managing interactions with automated outreach, subject recruitment, and other vendors that support the work of the Lab

Required Qualifications
• 1+ years of experience at a consulting firm or healthcare organization in a product management, UX, or incubation role (provider or payor network, healthcare start-up, policy organization)
• Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic knowledge of statistics (correlations, means, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in a related field
• Demonstrated experience analyzing data to inform product or leadership decisions
• Comfortable leading multi-stakeholder projects and strong storytelling skills; ability to create decks/white papers to influence leadership decisions

• Bachelor’s degree required
