Who are we looking for?
Vestwell is expanding and we’re keen to add a person to lead our Product team who’s passionate about changing the retirement fintech space. We’re looking for someone who loves to solve problems and is driven to build great products. You will work across all of our products – translating company goals into focused initiatives, actionable steps, and managing a backlog of work to be done. You will help refine and execute a product vision, improve product development processes, and implement external/internal product communication and feedback channels.
We’re a startup so a self-starter mentality comes first and foremost. You are someone who will dive into whatever creative challenge is placed in front of you. Your job requires an amazing relationship with operations, development, QA and business stakeholders to deliver new product features that critically impact the growth of our product.
What will you be doing at Vestwell?
- Understand high-level strategic plan, identify opportunities and translate that into buildable features
- Work with customer and business stakeholders to understand business requirements/goals for new features
- Manage a team of Product Managers, coordinating our product delivery processes
- Partner with our engineering and QA teams to optimize our delivery velocity
- Work with marketing to ensure appropriate rollout strategies and communications to our users and the broader market
- Development process and tools for tracking usage trends and allow data to inform future development plans
- 10+ years of experience in a product role in an industry which requires operational processes (ex: financial service, healthcare, logistics, etc.)
- Experience running a team and managing other product managers
- Ability to work with a range of personalities and roles from product development to engineering
- An entrepreneur at heart who can operate as a business driver within regulatory boundaries
- Ability to thoroughly understand business/functional requirements and possible business use cases
- Understanding and ability to drive the software development lifecycle in an agile environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced, project-oriented environment and meet deadlines under tight time constraints
- Excellent communication skills, both in verbal and written formats
- Must have the ability to interface with staff, management and clients
- 401k/retirement/benefits administration experience
- Early stage startup, FinTech, Tech, and/or Financial Services experience
