Instructional Designer & Trainer

Full-Time Anywhere

We are looking for a high-energy and experienced Instructional Designer/Trainer to join the Intersect Product Management team. The Instructional Designer will own all help content and instructor-led and self-paced training curriculum as well as additional client-facing and internal offerings.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for simplifying complex topics into digestible assets that will support both internal and external stakeholder needs. They will also demonstrate the ability to combine an understanding of sales and training dynamics with the ability to synthesize requirements and resources into a comprehensive content creation strategy. They will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and a desire to collaborate with market-facing product managers, technical product managers, customer support, product marketing, and sales leaders. A successful candidate will consider themselves a self-starter who is organized, extremely detailed, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be located in Arlington, VA (Clarendon metro) with an expected start date of October 1st.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Internal Enablement:
    • Collaborate with internal SMEs to identify audience training/learning needs
    • Synthesize content, develop scripts, create documentation (written, visual, video, e-learning), and produce learning experiences for clients and sales, support knowledge acquisition and application
    • Facilitate internal enablement exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
    • Develop criteria to assess internal learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
  • Internal Onboarding:
    • Create and maintain product training documentation for new hires
    • Facilitate product training and onboarding for new hires
  • Client Enablement & Support:
    • Collaborate with internal SMEs to identify audience training/learning needs
    • Synthesize content, develop scripts, create documentation (written, visual, video, e-learning), and produce client learning experiences; support knowledge acquisition and application
    • Continuously audit exisiting product documentation and keep product documentation library up-to-date
    • Monitor, provide support, and escalate issues concerning online professional networking community

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: 5+ years of experience in technical writing, training development, and instructional design for internal and external stakeholders
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with Camtasia, Photoshop, MadCap, and HTML foundational knowledge preferred
  • Sophisticated communication skills including the ability to interact and communicate with external clients
  • Ability to work within a team and independently, with little supervision at times
  • Ability to work with SMEs and other internal stakeholders to understand and incorporate their feedback into the learning solution
  • Ability to balance both process owner and client-facing roles
  • Multitasking, project management, and organizational skills
