Hello there! Good to meet you.

You are interested in working for DUMBO as a Junior User Interface and User Experience Designer on first-class solutions for complex interactive systems and digital high-quality products?

I see, you’d need to hear more about it.

So, as our new Junior UI / UX designer you’d work at our office in the vibrant »Veedel« Ehrenfeld in Cologne, Germany. Here we produce concepts and design at the same time. You are all about thoughtful ideas, refined user experience and elegant visual design? That’s exactly what we need.

You’d implement precise visual designs and achieve elegant UIs and graphics at pixel level. You’d also create animations, transitions, behavior, and other interactivity to guide and delight users. And you’d change the way users get their job done by improving a product’s usability, accessibility and joy of use. Moreover, you’d prototype, conduct surveys and customer interviews, interpret analytics data, and analyze competitors to fill gaps in understanding.

Don’t worry, you’re not doing this all by yourself. In essence, you’d support your colleagues and work together with our highly talented team. You’d be one of us — a truly essential part of our team!

Could fit for you? Great!

You’d love it. One of our partners, Robert or Felix, would be your mentor. Perfect if you want to gain a deep insight into interface and user experience design.

And you’d learn the very methods you need to ensure outstanding quality in an agile product development process. Lots of input on topics like research, prototypes and testing would also be part of it.
Even though we are a small team, our clients are big brands, global companies and industry leaders. So the results of your work would be put into interfaces that are used by millions every single day to get their jobs done. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

The requirements? Yeah, let’s see.

  • You’re no longer a greenhorn. You left your design studies behind and have been sniffing air in a design agency or startup since then. You know what is important at work.
  • You know your way around the usual tools. Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, Flinto and all that. And you may or may not have experience with Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking & Co.
  • You want to get better. And you’re dying to break new ground – after all, it’s a big world.
  • Übrigens. Wir sprechen Deutsch mit unseren Kunden. Allesamt.

Plus, you’re a good one. You help old grannies across the street, and that sort of thing. That’s essential. We like that.

So, what do you think? Say hi and introduce yourself!
