Product Designer

Hello, we’re SEER. We’re building the utility company for video on the internet. You’ve probably never heard of us, but don’t let that fool you… Our small-but-mighty team has operated quietly (and grown quickly) over the past two years. Now we’re looking to bring a Product Designer into the fold to help us design the future of video.

As part of the Product team at SEER, you’ll work directly with our founders and leadership team (along with the rest of the crew) to help design better ways to interact with video. We are a team of thinkers and doers — ideas matter, but making them real matters more. We get along with folks who are willing to roll up their sleeves, and who believe in moving forward…always.

If this sounds like you so far, here are the boxes we’re looking to check…

→ Ideally, we expect you to have ←

A college degree. Maybe a graduate degree. Or you simply worked your butt off to learn on the job.
5-8+ years of experience in the product design space.
Experience working on projects in technical environments.
A thorough understanding of user-centric design principles, data-driven design, and what it means to put the user first while still achieving business needs/goals.
Hands-on experience with the design of technical products for multiple touchpoints, including browser, mobile, OTT, and desktop applications.
Experience with today’s common design tools. We’re in the process of migrating the team to Figma, but occasionally add things like  Sketch, Zeplin, Creative Suite, Invision, Framer, etc. to the mix.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical teams.
The ability to design within a system while recognizing opportunities to improve upon that design language.
Time management and prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines.

→ Bonus points if you can (no points docked if you can’t!) ←

Code your own front-end work — preferably with knowledge in HTML, CSS, JS (React).
Work comfortably as part of an engineering workflow to commit your work.
Handle lightweight animation to show off how you’d like your designs to come to life.
Experience building responsive interfaces for the web and/or mobile applications.

→ Ideally, we expect you to be ←

Comfortable with ambiguity: When changes are made, you keep a cool head and fight on, solving for the requirements you know while maintaining flexibility to layer in those to come. You’re comfortable moving between projects and facing the unknown. Risk and change motivate you to evolve and innovate.
A problem solver: You take deep pride in your work and view each new problem as an opportunity for success. You approach challenges creatively, but methodically, sparking discussions as you work toward the right solution for the problem at hand.
Technically astute and ready to learn: You quickly learn new skills, grasping complicated technical information that often leaves others lost, scared, and generally cowering in fetal position. Whether it’s product, industry, or hard tech knowledge, you aim to soak it up like a sponge.
