The Role
It is an exciting time to join Willis Re Technology and the product team. The team is growing and having increasing importance in helping to improve the business and drive strategic change.
Reporting to the Head of Product, the Technical Product Manager) sits within Willis Re Technology and will be responsible for assessing the feasibility, viability and requirements of a mixture of tactical and strategic initiatives, and driving early stage product development. Additionally, the role will involve working across other product teams to help create a framework to define, collect and report on key product metrics in a consistent manner, so that we can measure our success and make better informed product decisions.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging the with business groups on multiple new initiatives to understand their challenges, and how the technology group can help to deliver both tactical solutions and longer terms strategic initiatives
Define lean business cases for investment, determining key metrics for success, current and target measures, cost/benefits and weighing up alternative solutions and options
Play a leading role in the ideation, development, and launch of new initiatives
Manage product backlogs, defining requirements and working within agile teams to deliver solutions.
Provide input into future strategy and roadmaps
Help to create a framework for measuring product success across the group, creating dashboards and automating the collection of relevant metrics where possible
The Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience as a product owner/manager working within agile delivery teams
A passion for delivering great products, user experiences and technology
Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
Entrepreneurial drive with strong analytical and prioritisation skills
An ability to manage multiple initiatives at different stages, working as both part of an agile delivery team and individually exploring new initiatives with business groups
An ability to balance tactical short terms needs and longer-term strategy
Desirable:
- Experience of managing both internal and external products and initiatives
Experience of working with onshore and offshore teams
UX design skills and experience creating designs. mock-ups etc
Financial services experience, re/insurance a bonus
Some Technical knowledge and experience of creating dashboards, analysing and collecting data from various sources could be advantageous
