Product Manager

Immediate Media is looking for a passionate, highly focused and ambitious digital product manager to join our team as the product owner for our Entertainment & Transactions (E&T) development team.

As a key member of our product team, you’ll work within the wider product & technology group to push forward our vision of digital publishing and e-commerce. We are currently building an in-house platform, which starts by replacing the multiple CMSes currently used by our wide range of editorial teams but will in future power a wide range of publishing functions including e-commerce. Our focus is on building brilliant features for this platform, and ensuring that they can benefit multiple brands across our varied portfolio. The E&T team delivers key feature development for the award-winning RadioTimes.com site and works with the wider team to ensure these are available for other sites to deploy.

 

ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT & TRANSACTIONS TEAM

 

The E&T team is focused on the delivery of best-in-class feature sets for Immediate Media’s new in-house platform. These currently include TV & Radio listings, our in-house quiz tools and transactional features related to retail, travel and financial servicesto RadioTimes.com Offers. The feature-set portfolio will develop over time, so there will be the opportunity to work on the ideation and development of new features from the ground up, and with the wider product & development teams to ensure features are built in a ‘develop once, use multiple times’ methodology.

The E&T team is a cross-functional agile team with UX, design, front-end and back-end development, and QA within the team. The product manager works closely with the tech lead to plan and deliver against the wider roadmap.

 

The product manager is also the representative for RadioTimes.com and Data & Transactions within the wider product & development team, and will need to work with stakeholders and other agile teams to ensure that feature sets relevant to the migration and ongoing development of the site are planned into the RadioTimes.com roadmap.

Accountabilities:

Working with a dedicated development team, the product manager is responsible for the delivery of the Entertainment & Transactions feature-set-based product roadmap.

 

This will include

 

  • Owning the product roadmap, coordinating feature-set development within the E&T team and with the wider development teams as appropriate.
  • Working with the scrum team within an agile framework to deliver iterations and updates each sprint.
  • Working with cross-department teams, including editorial, commercial, data & transactions and marketing, to gather and define stakeholder  requirements, benefits and prioritisation
  • Championing the customer experience within the business; be the voice of the customer at all stages of development.
  • Stakeholder management; ensure the RadioTimes and Data & Transactions teams areis kept informed of the wider platform development strategy and timeline, and factor it into the brand roadmap
  • Work with the wider product & development team to improve our products and our processes
  • Owning the feature-set roadmap for Data & Transactions requirements in a  way that can scale across multiple brands
  • Working with the development and product leads to migrate the RadioTimes.com site, including the Offers section, to our new platform
  • Where appropriate, working with our third party suppliers to develop and deliver an optimal product experience that meets our strategic requirements
  • Monitor success of features with digital KPIs. Analyse the multiple streams of data and share  learnings to wider team

Competencies :

 

  • Product management experience of a digital product or product portfolio
  • Ecommerce product experience is highly desirable
  • Understanding of and passion for creating great customer experiences for both internal and external customers
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a complex roadmap and work with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong interest in the commercial and monetisation opportunities appropriate to a brand, and the ability to find opportunities in the data
  • Strong understanding of the technical development process to deliver digital initiatives
  • Ability to iterate and execute quickly in a fast paced and agile environment
  • Experience in managing large groups of stakeholders and influencing at a senior level
  • Ruthless ability to prioritise
