This is a rare opportunity to work in a Senior Product Lead role for one of the UK’s most iconic brands, ITV. You will be working on amazing projects and cutting-edge technologies surrounded by a team of like-minded professionals from whom you can learn and grow.
You will work closely in partnership with the Product, Distribution and Technology teams and a range of internal stakeholders including legal, editorial and marketing.
As a Senior Product Lead you will be responsible for maximising the distribution of ITV content and ITV services on new IP platforms. You will be part of a world-class team in transforming the ways viewers consume ITV content. As we move from an app distribution paradigm to an aggregated and integrated environment we require metadata services to power search, a reimagined IP media playback experience, user authentication (ID), dynamic ad insertion and the support for voice control.
By working with us, you will help build out the wider ITV vision to create the best digital experience on next generation devices, using cutting edge technology, collaboration, and championing the best way to distribute ITV content with the optimal commercial model. You will be responsible for:
The development and delivery on the platform product vision for a set of products and services in line with ITV’s strategic objectives.
Building relationships with other areas of ITV key to the successful delivery of our products and services.
Active contribution to the development of product management best practice and the department’s collaborative culture.
Key Objectives of the role
Ensure that ITV’s programming is accessible for UK viewers by ensuring we are widely distributed and prominent on all UK platforms, so that we can deliver ITV On Demand’s core KPIs around addressable advertising and direct to consumer revenue.

Deep understanding of TV distribution as it is today and how it is likely to evolve in the coming years with IP distribution playing a larger role in how ITV viewers consume ITV content.
Experience and knowledge of new areas of market development in Set Top Box development e.g. Hub on Horizon, Peacock on Xfinity
Strong knowledge of TV platforms in the UK and worldwide, having the ability to understand technical challenges and how they might be overcome.
Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate complex processes at all levels
Ability to define a product strategy driven by viewer/user needs
Ability to present and be challenged on product strategy and defend product decisions across internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience of the delivery, management and ongoing improvement of consumer-facing products.
Demonstrable experience of working within multidisciplinary agile delivery teams to deliver successful and impactful product development.
Demonstrable experience of using analytics and audience research to uncover and investigate user behaviour; to establish insight into product performance and to use this data to drive ideas, features and product improvements.
Ability to apply industry knowledge, market awareness, audience research and analytics insights to product strategy and planning.
An understanding of the relevant technologies and practices (e.g. client and server-side technologies, new media technologies and platforms, agile software delivery) and software engineering processes and practices.
Be at the forefront of emerging technologies and understand their relevance to ITV Hub and ITV in general and its diverse audience.
Develop and foster relationships with multiple platform/device partners and industry bodies in order to understand and challenge direction and trends for distribution.
Develop and foster relationships with ITV stakeholders to understand needs and strategic drivers for which the product area could help realise.
Gather, define and prioritise requirements – work with architecture, engineering and delivery teams to create a valuable, communicable delivery roadmap for the product area and work within the product budget.
Clearly communicate the product strategy, plans, objectives and performance measures, progress against plans and budget to all interested and invested parties – tailoring communication as appropriate to ensure relevance to the audience.
Work with non-product teams such as marketing or business development to ensure effective communication of new or improved capabilities to audiences and partners.
