Guardian News & Media Ltd. is one of the most successful and innovative media organisations in the world, renowned for leading edge journalism, product and commercial development, and famous for nurturing talented individuals.
As the Guardian transforms into a digital-first organisation, it’s reinventing its content platform. The Content Platform team is responsible for the products used to create, manage and distribute Guardian content. We’re seeking a motivated, self-directed Product Manager with a strong technical background to join this team.
The responsibilities of the Product Manager (Content Platform) will cover product ownership of our digital content management system and Open Platform APIs. The latter includes the internal version of the API upon which all of our core web and mobile products are built, and the external version upon which we are building a new content monetisation and syndication business. These products are one of the most critical elements of the Guardian’s digital strategy and have very high visibility both within and outside the organisation.
To be considered for this role you’ll be a motivated, self-directed Product Manager with a strong technical background. You’ll have experience with developing online products and technologies as well as driving data-based decisions. You’ll be managing multiple tasks at once so you’ll have an organised and pro-active approach to work and will possess strong communication and influencing skills. You’ll also be familiar with business issues in the news and media space and have the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
The Product Manager (Content Platform) will provide the opportunity for you to rapidly grow into a bigger role with an expanded product portfolio. You’ll also have the chance to build a career with one of the UK’s most recognised and highly regarded media brands whilst helping to bring The Guardian’s digital-first strategy to life.
