We are looking for a principal product manager to join the Oracle Cloud Project Management team with a focus on project billing. Position is in the US, very remote-friendly. Interested in folks with an enterprise background and experience in projects/billing/accounting.

Oracle’s Project Financial Management Cloud product management team is looking for a high energy Principal Product Manager with creative ideas around building project billing and revenue management applications based on the latest market trends and technological advances. Our objective is to make applications smarter and more efficient with reduced data entry and user effort. Effective project billing and revenue management is essential in today’s service-oriented global economy and enables companies to adhere to accounting standards while maximizing revenue margins. We work with customers and requirements from a variety of project intensive industries, including professional services, internal IT, entertainment, retail, and education and research.

As a Principal Product Manager with our team, you contribute throughout the product development life cycle in a challenging and intellectually stimulating environment. You analyze customer requirements, develop a vision of the solution to fulfill the requirements, and manage the details of that vision to realization. You also provide industry expertise, coordinate complex projects, and mentor other product managers.

Key skills and experience for the position include:

  • Prior industry experience with project revenue management, including the determination of revenue to recognize, revenue accounting, recording cost of goods sold, project profitability analysis, intercompany billing, and multicurrency
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15 and ASC 606 revenue accounting standards
  • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements and reconciliation techniques.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle (design, development, and testing) including Agile/Scrum development methodology
  • Experience with using data to drive feature prioritization and to inform investment decisions
  • Ability to execute over the entire product life cycle from a Product Management perspective
  • A record of accomplishment in product management leadership roles
  • Ability to manage projects and programs
  • User experience (UX) design experience in web applications, mobile, or chatbots
  • Background in SaaS and cloud-based software is a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills


Detailed Description and Job Requirements

 Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
