Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all analytics, insight and technology work.
As a Senior Product Owner, you will work in the product model and will be a part of developing your product strategy and related roadmap, while ensuring key business objectives(OKRs) are being delivered upon for your respective product. You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product. Specifically, in this role, you will own the prioritization and delivery of insight sand analytics to store teams and partners within headquarters. As you work through the prioritization process you will then decompose the request into a series of questions that can be answered leveraging the reporting and analytical capabilities used by the team.You will lead a product and work in unison with process owners, data analysts, and data engineers to deliver a product.
You will be the “voice of the product” to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful.You will be expected to collaborate with teams across the enterprise to develop cohesive and complementary data and reporting strategies and implementations.These strategies will provide the framework to mature data foundations, analytics capabilities and mathematical applications that drive the business.In addition to working with data analysts and engineers, in this role, you will partner with upstream teams to understand and embrace enterprise, source system, and technology strategies to ensure that products within your scope align to these strategies.You will begin to develop an understanding of the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.
You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as partner with others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization’s direction.As you define your product, you will communicate with and educate key partners/end users on data strategies, insights, and impacts.The products you deliver will result in the development of data sets, self-service, and standardized reporting platforms for leaders, partners, power users, and business users.As your products evolve, you will demonstrate their capabilities and interact with users to educate them on the usage of the product and its benefits.You will foster sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours. About you:
4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of product domain experience
Understand the Product model and ability to work in and with Agile teams
PreviousProduct Owner and Agile Development experience
Familiarity with developing BI solutions including design, coding, testing, and report building
Demonstrated ability to drive efforts from concept to implementation and influence across all levels of the organization
Good understanding of data structures and the designing of algorithms
Work in high intensity situations with composure and ease
Strong communication skills
Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
Experience working in an agile environment (e.g.user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
Proven ability to lead a body of work with cross functional partners
Agile and Product Owner certifications preferred
Inquisitive on Big Data technology – current on new ideas and tools utilized inBusiness Intelligence & Analytics
