Founded in 1915 to elevate the standard of qualification for the practice of medicine and provide a means for the recognition of qualified persons to practice in any state, territory, or dependency of the United States, we continue to further advance the assessment of medical education. Together with the Federation of State Medical Boards, we develop and manage the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE) and other academic assessments. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS OUR SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

As our Senior Product Manager, you work with a talented team focused on addressing customer needs and drive direct decision-making about the evolution of our offerings. Initially, you synthesize data regarding the product portfolio, engage with stakeholders, and work to gain a full understanding of the manner and methodologies that we use. With guidance from the team’s director, you become fully immersed in our immediate and long-term goals while learning what the priorities are for the product portfolio.

Managing multiple aspects of the product lifecycle, you have direct accountability for defining market problems, pinpointing customer needs, identifying market opportunities, developing product roadmaps, and executing plans. You create and deliver presentations, webinars, and reports about your program and activities to NBME governance and other external groups. Drawing on your product management experience and knowledge, you serve as a mentor for others on the team and across the organization.

Serving as the main liaison between internal and external stakeholders, you lead groundbreaking product initiatives of high complexity that require significant inter-team and cross-functional collaboration to execute. WORK SCHEDULE

This exempt full-time product management position follows our 35-hour week company schedule but is expected to work additional hours when necessary to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

  • Bachelor’s  degree in a related field
  • 7+ years of strategic and technical product management experience
  • Experience launching new products or making significant overhauls to existing products
  • Experience  leading and organizing intensive market research, pilot, and testing  efforts
  • Experience in an agile product management environment
  • Ability to operate within diverse cross-functional groups and diverse external stakeholder groups
  • Understanding of marketing
  • Proficiency with project planning and budget management software
  • Leadership experience

 

Product management experience in healthcare, medical education, or assessments is preferred, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Product management certification such as PMP, Six Sigma, or similar is also preferred.
