One of our favourite quotes from Ryan Holiday’s book, Growth Hacker Marketing is, “What’s the point of driving a bunch of new customers through marketing channels if they immediately leak out through a hole in the bottom?”
Ryans’ clearly got a point, and it’s this mindset that sums up our thoughts around the next phase of our core product growth.
This newly created role could be called equal parts Product Manager and Growth Hacker. But its really about understanding the customers that sign up for our SaaS product and helping them get to that “Aha!” moment in their very first product experience. It is a role that’s focused on conversion and onboarding, running experiments, tailoring and improving the product experience, to drive up all the metrics that matter in the early life of our customers.
We think this is a unique role and something suited to someone with experience in growing existing SaaS Products, working closely with customers and understanding how to push and pull the levers that lead to success.
As our new Product Manager you can expect to;
Work closely across many functions (in particular UX, engineering, analytics, marketing, customer success and inside sales), to map customer personas, use cases and ‘jobs to be done’ by industry and role type.
Continually ideate with the cross-functional teams and execute on experiments to drive up metrics across time-to-value, early churn, conversion and activation rates.
Report and share insights on customers, experiments and the metrics that matter.
Spend as much time with our customers as possible to understand who they are, what they’re trying to achieve and what they view as success.
There are very few opportunities out there right now for a Product Manager to make such a major fundamental impact on an established Product. It’s a big task that’s not for the fainthearted, but we think you’ll be up to it if you have honed your Product management tradecraft and can show;
3+ years of product management experience in SaaS (B2B or B2C)
Experience working with UX and engineering teams to continuously improve the product experience
Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts,
Proven results in improving customer and business metrics (conversion, NPS, time to value, churn, etc.)
Strong presentation and communication skills, with proven ability to author impactful content
Excel at collaborating with and influencing multiple stakeholders across functional groups and locations to achieve the team and organization’s goals
