Associate Product Manager

Full-Time United Kingdom Closes: 2021-04-05

Learning Pool is among the fastest growing e-learning companies in the market, servicing more than 1,100 customers and 5 million learners globally.  Our expert team creates the content and technology solutions that engage and empower modern leaders, using pioneering technology and creative content that we build, deliver and maintain.

We’re passionate about customer success and our customers trust us to deliver long lasting value and a great return on investment.

We have a clear focus on growing our business and providing our customers with a world class service. Our team is incredibly high performing and the person we appoint to this role will need to be too. We also have a lot of fun and the open culture of Learning Pool is something that we are proud of.

About the role

At Learning Pool we’re looking for an Associate Product Manager who will help us build our Learning Suite. You’ll help figure out where we can improve and develop a key product to provide the most value and best experience for our customers, partners, and learners.

You will work closely with the Product Manager and other product colleagues to support the development and growth of a successful product in a rapid development phase.

This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to start a career in Product Management. We’re particularly looking for somebody that will grow with the team and product, and potentially move into a Product Manager role in the future. Although this role is primarily aligned with our Learning Suite, you will also have the opportunity to work across products from time to time, gaining breadth of experience across a range of software products.

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

Work closely with the Product Manager and colleagues in the Product Department to capture, understand, describe and respond to customer requirements

Product manage some of the smaller products and product components we have, supported by the wider PM team

Assist in managing the roll-out of new and updated functionality to the business, including producing documentation to support releases

Assist in the management and facilitation of Design Sprints for new product components.

Assist in prioritising and managing the product backlog, updating roadmaps and other related documentation and communications

Develop a deep understanding of the products in the suite, becoming a product expert the rest of the organisation can rely on.

Help with day-to-day running of the product – looking into bugs and feature/enhancement requests, writing release notes, keeping the team (both in product and the wider business) up to date with what’s going on with developments and improvements.

Support research and data-gathering activities around the product, helping to ensure we are evidence-led in our decision making

Ensure that customers concerns are addressed and escalated where appropriate

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Organisational skills: Product management is a varied and busy job – you’ll need to be very organised and able to prioritise
Commercial acumen: You’ll champion the customer and understand that our products need to make business sense and meet regulatory requirements. Balancing competing needs is an integral part of creating a great product
Action bias: You’ll need to be a ‘do-er’, able to work quickly across multiple tasks and types of work within a team that moves at speed
Eager to learn: You’ll need to quickly develop a detailed understanding of multiple products and configurations.
Tech savviness: You’ll need to understand what a software developer does, understand APIs and be able to ask the right questions to ensure that technical choices will meet requirements
Communication skills: You should be ready to ‘over communicate’ with a variety of colleague and client audiences through clear written documentation and communications. You’ll need to be confident speaking with colleagues and users
Eye for detail: You’ll need to need great attention to detail and accuracy in everything you do

Location is flexible, with a preference for candidates within a commutable distance to a Learning Pool UK office
