UX/UI Product Designer | Hectare

We’re looking for a junior-mid weight product designer with experience in designing dashboards, forms, user interactions, reports to work on an innovative platform at a fast growing agri-tech business. The role is fully remote (UK based) and flexible, or, if you wish, we have beautiful offices in the South Downs.

Founded in 2015 by farmers and developers, Hectare is a fast growing agri-tech business with a team of 25 based all around the UK. The Hectare platform now powers some of farming’s fastest growing supply chains and has recently secured a round of funding from private and strategic investors.

Post investment, we’re focusing on building out our new Platform and are looking for a UX/UI Designer to focus on our new supply chain solutions that include agricultural logistics and inventory management, not just for the UK market but also Internationally.

About you:

-You’ll need to be up for hitting the ground running. With our Platform products in progress, more markets opening up at a pace and new ideas that need to become a reality, there’s plenty to get involved with.

-You’ll have proven expertise as a designer across various phases of product development (e.g. building, launching and scaling) and will have solid experience designing dashboards, forms, reports and user interactions for a B2B customer.

-You’re happy working in a small, highly driven, remote-first team with sometimes limited resources but you relish the challenge and opportunity to have a bigger voice to shape our product and to make it a reality with beautiful design and usability.

-You are used to taking a pragmatic view to design delivery without compromising longer-term strategic vision.

-A natural collaborator and a clear communicator, you know instinctively how to keep people informed, without adding unnecessary noise or complexity.

-You’re a self-starter, able to prioritise work and comfortable with a fast paced environment.

-Happy to iterate, you can quickly identify opportunities to improve design processes and take advantage of the latest tools to support the scaling up of design work at the right time.

Your responsibilities:

-As our first in-house Designer, you will create an accessible user experience for our agricultural and logistics customers around the globe
-Produce creative, easy to use wireframes, user flows, prototypes and supporting documentation to communicate solutions
-Creating wireframes to communicate functional needs and flow for UI design
-Establishing preliminary patterns for flows, layouts, and interactions
-Iterating and evolving designs based on user feedback
-Helping to lead on strategic creative decisions and ensure consistency of vision
-Collaborating with our engineering team and product managers

Previous experience:
– You’ve had 1 or more years experience working as a UI/UX designer focusing on dashboard design, reports, user interactions
– Experience of designing for B2B or SaaS products is a bonus
– Experience of working with a remote first team is beneficial
– Experience of multi-platform UX/UI (iOS, Android, web)
– Ideally experience of design for multi-lingual, global products
– Proven ability to translate findings into actionable product improvements
– Strong knowledge of the UX process and usability design principles
– An understanding and empathy for an industry that has in the past been slow to adopt new technologies and often operates in locations with poor or no signal is a benefit

– Our development teams will be easily able to pick up your work to quickly understand what needs to be done to implement beautiful designs for an on-time delivery that delights our customers every time

– You’ll always collaborate at the right time to ensure the most efficient approach is taken to get the job done

– Our customers find our product easy to use and recommend it to others

– Communication style is consistent, design delivery and our processes are thoroughly understood throughout the organisation at every touch point.
