Product Marketing Operations Specialist

NPR’s Digital Media Product team looking for a Product Marketing Operations Specialist to provide day-to-day management of NPR’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of NPR’s news, programming, marketing and digital divisions to grow NPR’s digital platform audience, deepen user relationships with NPR and its Member Stations, and ultimately encourage national platform users to become donors.

This person is the primary steward and power user of NPR’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance. The successful candidate will show the capacity to both identify and execute high-value one-off campaigns, and to build the systems, automation workflows and templates that support strong day-to-day audience engagement practices. This role requires a near-fanatical devotion to data-driven decision-making, an understanding of database and CRM structure and functionality, and an unshakeable focus on audience service in our marketing and audience engagement efforts.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Train users throughout the organization to send email via Salesforce Marketing Cloud with a particular focus on news and programming
  • Design, document and enforce best practices in the platform
    Provide technical coordination for cross-divisional, multi-channel campaigns
  • Connect individual campaigns and initiatives to larger organizational goals
  • Measure and report results from campaigns and initiatives
  • Contribute as an email and marketing automation expert to product development projects
  • Evangelize data-driven, audience-focused digital marketing excellence across the organization


  • 1-3 years experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget, particularly Email Studio
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success in email marketing and marketing automation campaign execution
  • Identify and execute tactical campaigns to accomplish organizational goals
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Willingness to dive right into the platform, learn the system, ask questions and start experimenting
  • Drive diverse teams toward common goals
