We are looking for our first product designer to join our growing product team. If you are a designer who loves to solve hard problems using customer-centric approaches, craft beautiful looking UI and have a passion for system designs, then we would love to chat with you.
Our vision
At twist we see a future where all products & materials are loved & looked after. Currently, producers aren’t incentivised to build long-lasting products and only a small fraction of them end up being recycled. It’s a model that can’t sustain. This is why we’re building a set of tools that lets producers shift to a “product as-a-service” offering. Letting them take responsibility for their products longevity and end of life. It’s a flexible and hassle-free offering for their customers with more profit for them. A win-win… win. That has lead us to a mission that the whole team is dedicated to enable hardware services to design out waste & grow.
Our product enables multiple experts within our customer’s teams. We know that no single discipline has all the answers needed to design out waste and grow hardware services, and we’ve found that the best new ideas come from dedicated collaboration between different fields. We firmly believe that to do that well, we need to build a diverse, empowered and cross-functional team. Our first product designer is a key hire for us to achieve this.
What you will be doing at Twist:
Own the product design process and elements. This includes but not limited to; crafting beautiful UI, user research, service blueprints and user experience
Brand and identity for Twist. As our first designer, you’ll have budget to work with one of London’s best branding agencies to bring our mission to life
We like to move lean, and are very early in our product development phase, spending lots of time with our customers. Helping define and solve problems through quick prototypes is going to be a big part of the role.
Doing user research, considering both the user and service experience, communicating this internally and translating this into interaction patterns and well-crafted UI
You will be working closely with the founders and our engineers. We are a small but growing team that likes to solve problems together, you will have lots of support and be encouraged to try and test your ideas
💪Your experience:
You should feel comfortable being the only designer in a team and have done so on several occasions
You will have worked with more complex systems that require iterations and thinking before going into UI
Comfortable doing user interviews and user research to back up your ideas and test assumptions
Comfortable working in a cross-functional team
You can go through several projects in your portfolio and show us the design thinking process you followed
Having worked at a startup before is not a must, but having the understanding that things move quickly, that there is a lot of uncertainty and how to deal with ambiguity is key.
We at twist are an equal opportunities employer and would encourage you to apply even if you feel like you are not ticking all the boxes.
