THE ROLE
As our head of product and innovation (P&I), you will help us deliver on our company purpose to improve the health of everyone, everywhere by leading and growing a team of engineers and innovators who develop products that shape global health solutions with powerful data insights. We are building an integrated IoT and data platform that is deployed in 25 countries, and protects the vaccine supply for 1 in 10 babies born on earth every year. You’ll be a visionary for all stages of our product development while being a key member of our leadership team and strategic thought partner to our CEO. As our first product leader, you’ll set the vision for our product strategy and roadmap, bringing an unwavering focus to the priorities that will take our organization to the next level. Your Role
Inspire the leadership team, product committee, and your department with a focused vision and roadmap that will inform what we say yes and no to
Attract and build an amazing team by hiring a UX Designer or Product Manager and supporting the engineering manager with assessing recruiting needs and developing the team
Work cross functionally to drive our product lifecycle and engineering planning processes, inviting continuous improvement throughout
Ensure engineers have detailed requirements for software/product development including specified designs, from UX to feature prioritization, for every technology they build
Partner with our Nexleaf Business Office to analyze customer data to inform sales strategies and product solutions
Systematically evaluate and implement user adoption indicators, and get to the root of adoption challenges
Bring your coaching skills to support everyone on the team, including our in country team members, to think like a product manager
Actively contribute to and shape Nexleaf’s success beyond the product strategy by serving as a peer mentor and advisor to senior leaders

Requirements
5+ years of product management experience across the full product lifecycle, particularly with early stage development (new market)
1+ years of experience leading a product team
Deeply curious, bringing great listening skills along with an ability to ask powerful questions that unlock insights and perspectives from others even when they’re stuck
Natural coach and mentor, committed to and experienced with developing the next generation of leaders, influencing other leaders and amplifying the talent around you
You bring first principles thinking and strong judgment drawing from deep experience, balancing instinct and analytics, and balancing discipline with agility
You love feedback and are masterful at giving and receiving feedback in all directions
Experience delivering finely-tuned product strategies in a small, early stage organization
Experience with agile software development methodologies
Post-pandemic: Ability to travel to Africa and Asia extensively to get to know our users early on and domestically every other month or so
