CODE Hospitality is a digital subscription business for the hospitality industry. Our mission is to reward, inspire, connect and educate (R.I.C.E) hospitality professionals through our content platforms and membership offering. Since launching over 7 years ago, CODE has become a much-loved resource, spearheading initiatives and spotlighting people and businesses alike to support and celebrate the industry.

We are looking for an experienced product manager who will lead CODE’s growth plans. This is a new role, reporting directly into the COO. The product manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day digital landscape at CODE and will work closely with the leadership team to shape the future of the business.

We have two core digital products – the CODE website and CODE app. The CODE website is currently hosted on WordPress and serves as a content hub, subscription management platform and marketing tool for our B2C and B2B offerings. Through the CODE app (native app and bespoke Heroku CMS) members can access hundreds of industry-exclusive offers. We currently work with two external agencies on the development, support and maintenance of the website and app. The product manager will lead, develop and evolve these relationships.

Responsibilities:

The product manager will be responsible for:

  • Shaping the future of our products – defining the vision and implementing a clear strategy to meet business goals and user needs, with objectives and measurable key results.
  • Prioritising solutions and opportunities – taking a data-driven approach to prioritise work streams and make decisions whilst managing the development budget.
  • Project management – ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritised, and delivered on time, working closely with development teams and internal teams.
  • User research – engaging directly with members and partners to build an understanding of what makes a great experience for members and partners, and how we can improve it.
  • Developing subscriber lifecycle programmes – analysing and optimising how members convert through the funnel (awareness > acquisition > engagement > retention).
  • Analytics & reporting – ensuring key stakeholders are kept up to date with progress and compiling regular reports.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Subscription product management – You have experience of building and developing B2C and B2B subscription products with CRM and payment integrations.
  • Communication – You have experience of working with senior stakeholders, communicating progress, and understanding business challenges in depth and translating technical detail to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Financial ownership – You can secure funding through a business case and can prioritise spending based on return on investment (ROI) and strategic intent.
  • Agile working – You know about agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work.
  • Experience of working within constraints – You understand and can work within given constraints. You know how to challenge constraints that can be changed. You know how to prioritise and mitigate constraints and can turn them into an advantage.
  • Problem ownership – You can understand and identify problems, analysing and helping to identify the appropriate solution. You can classify and prioritise problems, document their causes and implement remedies.
  • Operational management – Experience working directly with development teams across the product life cycle from design, data, development, to testing and release.

  • Strategic ownership – You can focus on outcomes, not solutions. You know how to get the organisation and team to buy in. You can translate the vision into prioritised deliverable goals.
  • User focus – You understand users and can identify who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence. You can translate user stories and propose design approaches or services to meet these needs.

The product manager will work semi-autonomously working closely with our external agencies, along with leadership, the partner & members team, editorial and marketing.

How we work:

The CODE team have a flexible set up with a combination of remote working and access to Soho Works spaces in central London where we meet as a team at least once a week.
