Prosperity Digital Marketplace (PDM) is a non-profit subsidiary of United Way of Western Connecticut and we are searching for a Product Manager who will help us change people’s lives through technology.
PDM is at both times a new and innovative organization that is also rooted in a 125-year-old legacy of creating community change. Our Product Manager will be focused on building out our new national digital platform, Prosperi-Key. The platform serves households living paycheck to paycheck, by matching them to organizations, companies and donors that want to help, ultimately having the potential to impact millions of Americans and their families.
About Us
Prosperity Digital Marketplace (PDM) is a non-profit subsidiary of United Way of Western Connecticut. We formed to enable United Ways to serve low-income households in a more efficient and technology driven manner, while creating a revenue stream that can be poured into programming and solutions on a local and national level.
We care about people who work hard, often in multiple jobs for wages that cannot sustain their family. They are consumed with supporting their family, do not know where to look for help, and find it daunting when they finally do look for assistance. United Ways call these households ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.)
Prosperi-Key is a software platform that operates in the nonprofit space matching people living paycheck to paycheck with people who can help. At the same time, businesses and brands who want to help can easily target those in need, and make sure that their contributions are used correctly.
Our software platform makes it easy and trustworthy for both groups to connect and fill the gap. The result is families living financially stable lives, which is essential for their wellbeing and our economy. For instance, we help provide free music classes to students in need, which reduces the extra-curricular gap, and helps young ALICE family members access the same opportunities as more fortunate students.
About The Role
As our Product Manager, you will take ownership of the Prosperi-Key platform. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You will also be responsible for creating products which revolve around the data collected from our user base. This includes:
Creating product roadmaps which are inline with the broader organization roadmaps and mission of United Ways.
Translating business strategy into product requirements.
Acting as Product Owner for the agile software team.
Being the voice of the user, by gathering customer feedback and analyzing user data, and using it to inform product strategy.
Working directly with the CEO and VP Product to establish financial models, product profitability and commercial success.
Collaborating with the marketing team and the rest of the organization to get products to market and create social impact.

Experience working in an agile environment, start-up or non-profit is a plus! Another plus is having had the opportunity to work on data products in the past.
