The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for increasing profitability of existing products and developing new products for Cayuse. You will build products from existing roadmap and develop new ideas based on industry experience and market insights.  In particular, you will lead the development of products focused on financial management of research grants for large clients in the field of research administration. You will have one or more of the following skills in your track record:

5+ years of Product Management work experience delivering scalable, B2B SaaS products with experience managing multiple products across a portfolio
Experience working in growth organizations and/or scaling products
Proven ability to manage complex customer problems
Ability to quickly learn about research administration market and product needs, especially for finance-focused products
History of building strong cross-functional relationships across customer success, implementation, sales, design, and engineering functions
Experience working with products focused on managing finance and operating functions [payroll, project budgets, costs, projections and reporting] would be a plus

Your Responsibilities

Develop and maintain product roadmap that reflects market trends, future development priorities, and company goals
Identify new opportunities, product enhancements, line extensions and new target markets
Execute product roadmap with Scrum/Agile engineering teams
Define MVP product release, with appropriate mix of enhancements and bugs
Manage project backlog based on business value, cost and strategic direction
Develop documentation to support the approval, design, development and launch of the product
Identify and understand competitive landscape and market factors to develop relevant strategies
Manage key customer relationships jointly with sales
Serve as a product evangelist both internally and externally
Identify market needs through external customer facing events, community engagement, and Customer Advisory Boards
Monitor progress and provide updates on product strategy and direction

Advocate for the customer, keeping their interests in mind at all times
Be an expert in the product and keep up to date with technological advances
Have experience researching relevant industry trends and applying to product strategy & roadmap
Demonstrate established business acumen, especially in the context of a software publisher
An analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills demonstrated by the ability to structure an issue & analyze alternative solutions
Display superior communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences and influence outcomes and decisions
Must be an individual who thinks strategically and sees the larger opportunity, without losing sight of the product details
Must demonstrate cross-functional partnering skills with the ability to gain shared vision on challenging decisions and priority trade-offs; Can identify the critical few priorities, and keep the team focused on them

Some Key Details:

This position will report to the Director of Product Management
Position may be based at headquarters in Portland or be fully remote
Travel to other Cayuse offices and/or customer sites as needed (10 – 20%)
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the time
This is a security sensitive position and requires a background check
