We are building a blazingly fast and ultra-relevant search engine made in Rust that allows our partners to have a powerful search engine without initial configuration. Features such as typo-tolerance, filters, and synonyms are provided out-of-the-box.

We are a team of passionate people and our project is growing fast (+10K GitHub stars in 12 months) and we are working on a cloud offering. In order to go from a successful open source project to a monetized solution, we are looking for a Product Manager for our SaaS team, starting as soon as possible.

About the job

MeiliSearch has more than 1600 instances running in production today and 1M+ downloads. Developers are asking for a cloud-hosted version.

The SaaS team is a fully remote team composed of 4 people (2 full-stack developers, 1 UI/UX designer and the COO acting as manager), we’ve built a proof-of-concept and are now looking to release an open beta by the end of the year.

Definition of a SaaS strategy and vision was started early April 2021, and we are now looking for someone to help us define and prioritize what to build in the upcoming months from a business point of view, in coordination with the rest of the team who will manage the technical aspects.

What you’ll be doing

As a Product Manager your role will include:

Prioritizing and defining which features to develop, according to the global product vision we have today,
Defining the product roadmap, preferably transparently on GitHub: Conducting market research/analysis and user research to better understand our user and customer needs,
Working with the founders on the positioning of the cloud offering (pricing, wording, communication…),
More generally, being the point of contact internally & externally regarding the SaaS and its roadmap
As a MeiliSearch team member, you will also:

Help in supporting developers use MeiliSearch
Participate in answering the community’s questions in Slack and GitHub

– Prior experience working on developing a B2B SaaS – not necessarily as a Product Manager
– Affinity with the tech & programming space: must understand who our users (developers) are, and how to make a product attractive to them

Nice to have

– Prior experience as a Product Manager
– Experience in implementing marketing processes (NPS, AARRRR, analytics funnel…)
– Experience in market research and competitor benchmarking
– Knowledge of UX design
