Product Manager – Global Mobile Platform

Contract EST/GMT Salary: $70-$100 per hr Closes: 2021-07-30

Our Mobile Platform Team is responsible for the provisioning, configuration management, service enablement and release management of mobile apps across our public and private app store environments.

We need an product manager to join and help lead our DevOps-oriented team and take us to the next level in terms of delivering value for our organisation as it pivots towards ever more ambitious mobile apps requiring new capabilities from our platform.

As a platform team, we manage everything to do with mobile CI/CD and automations, a client and management dashboard, a portfolio of 500+ mobile assets, app store release, compliance, SDLC, and other aspects of the mobile asset lifecycle.

Your roadmap and delivery areas will include:

Maximizing the value delivered through CI/CD, automation and related aspects of mobile app provisioning, development and release. We have automated a lot, but there is more to go especially in the areas of testing and release management.

Developing an internal customer dashboard product to enable as broad a spectrum of “self-service” activities as possible, from commissioning new projects and back ends, through to publishing releases to the store and accessing analytics.

Developing goals, roadmaps and providing leadership. You’ll need to partner with Engineering Leads and leads from our app-delivery teams to deliver maximum value as defined by ease of use, developer experience, quality and security.

Some other details

We are building our our own capability and knowledge, so we recognise the value of enthusiasm and the ability to learn just as much as the benefits of existing experience.

Saying that, mobile app development and publishing is full of idiosyncrasies so a level of experience in the mobile space is definitely preferred.

In order to perform, you’ll need to have, or develop, a good understanding of our technical landscape & that of the industry as a whole and you’ll need some relevant expertise in some of our foundational technologies/areas including iOS Development, Android Development, Hybrid/Ionic/Cordova/Capacitor mobile development, Apple and Google Play App Store release management, CI/CD practices and tooling, Google Fastlane/Firebase.

You’ll be supported by your Engineering Leads who will help you make good decisions for the platform based on what adds the most value and supports our requirements for global scalability and supportability.

You’ll work with our operations engineers to manage requirement changes from platform vendors like Apple, Google, Ionic, GitHub and communicate these and any internal changes to our users and stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with multiple product teams developing, releasing and maintaining mobile apps across a large global portfolio of apps to ensure that our roadmap meets their needs.

Well, if this sounds interesting, please apply! We’d love to hear from you.
