At Billdr, our mission is to make home renovations simple, transparent, and efficient for everyone. We’re building technology to support homeowners with their projects from start to finish while also providing automation to general contractors to help them be more efficient and productive.

About the role
We are looking for a generalist product designer with a collaborative mindset. You will be responsible for designing delightful user experiences for general contractors, homeowners, and Billdr project managers – to improve said experiences and solve their most painful problems. You will enhance existing features and imagine, test, and build new ones, focusing on the before and during phases of the customer home renovation experience.
You will engage across all stages of the product, using your skills in user research, concept development, workshop facilitation, prototyping, user testing to final product delivery.
You will report directly to our Chief Product Officer (CPO) and collaborate closely with the engineering, marketing and operations teams.
What you will do
Own the full-stack design process from user research, through wireframes, design workshops, user testing up to final polished UI design.
Have continuous conversations with our customers: general contractors, homeowners, project managers.
Participate in developing and implementing new product strategies
Create compelling experiences via visual storytelling
What you’ll need
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Designer
Experience as a Customer eXperience (CX) designer is a huge plus
Native in English, French is a plus
Located in Montreal, Toronto, or Chicago
Great portfolio with successful user-centered designs.
Proficient with design and prototyping tools (Figma, etc)
Some knowledge of HTML and CSS
Strong communication skills to clearly articulate your concepts
Experience animating design workshop session
An appreciation of A/B testing and using data to inform design decisions
Compensation
- Equity: Competitive equity package
- Salary: $80k – $110k USD
- Standard health benefits (including dental and vision)
