About the role:
Common is seeking a Director of Product Management to join our Digital Product team. In this role reporting to the VP of Product, you will set the product roadmap and manage a team of 3 product managers to deliver results that tangibly impact the business’s trajectory. You will collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, and stakeholders across the business (Operations, Marketing, Sales) to constantly iterate and improve upon our leasing conversion funnel, operations efficiency, and resident experience. We are on a mission to build the frictionless and on-demand rental experience that every renter craves but has yet to experience.
Responsibilities:
- Translate Common’s vision for transforming the modern rental experience into an actionable, prioritized product roadmap
- Lead teams in maximizing business value while maintaining excellence in product design, development, and user experience
- Manage, mentor, and coach top product talent to break down complex problems, develop strategies, and collaborate to deliver solutions
- Spearhead the Agile process at Common, such as sprint planning, retrospective meetings, standups and spec reviews
- Ability to roll-up your sleeves, write-up product assessments, scopes, etc. if necessary.
- Build strong relationships with your partners who are Engineering Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts
- Work closely with business stakeholders in scoping and prioritizing product work, communicating releases, measuring results, and iterating on our processes
- Communicate with clarity the strategy, progress, and success to executives, the entire company, the board, and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of professional experience with evidence of increasing responsibility
- Prior product management experience where you have delivered multiple successful and impactful products
- Bachelor’s degree, analytically oriented degrees preferred
- Exceptional quantitative skills, including strong Excel, dashboarding, and SQL experience
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail paired with comfort presenting to senior leadership
- Empathy for customers and passionate about the user experience
- Bias for action, and a test and learn mentality
- Tech-savvy – comfortable in detailed conversations with developers, able to communicate complex technical issues to a wide range of audiences
- Creative problem-solver with excitement to work on cross-functional teams and projects
- A passion for platforms, the sharing economy, and/or on-demand services
- Prior start-up experience is a plus
