Who is the role for…

Are you an experienced, motivated and capable Product Manager with a passion for establishing new digital services and driving quality and effectiveness across the whole of the organisation. If so, then this could be the role for you…..

Reporting directly to the Programme Director the Product Manager will be expected to use their knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for execution and delivery.  More specifically, you will be responsible for the Product lifecycle; including gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with all departments within the business to ensure financial and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Highly adept technically, you will also have the relevant people skills and experience to be successful in the role, working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities….

As our Product Manager, you will have the skills and awareness combined with the working knowledge of:

  • Agile working – You know about agile methodology and the ways you can apply the principles in practice quickly.
  • DDaT perspective – You can demonstrate an understanding of user centered design, technology and data principles and understand the range of available technology choices.
  • Working within constraints – You understand the value of policy, legislative, regulatory and operational constraints and can find the simplest, shortest and fastest solution for users.
  • Financial ownership – You can handle numbers confidently and collate information ensuring accuracy of financial and performance data.
  • Life-cycle perspective –  You understand how the needs of the team and the product vary across the stages of the product life cycle.
  • Operational management –  You understand the operational processes of running and maintaining product or service.
  • Problem ownership – You can initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems. You know how to consult specialists where required. You can determine the appropriate remedy and assist with implementation of it. You know how to determine preventative measures.
  • Product ownership – You know about the tools, terms and concepts used to deliver a product.
  • Strategic ownership – You understand how to get buy-in from the team and other stakeholders.
  • User focus – You can identify needs and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence. You understand and can define research that fits user needs. You can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
  • Champion learning and openness across the organisation, proactively and creatively providing relevant data and insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation tools.

Skills and Competencies…..

  • Significant experience managing a product through discovery, alpha, beta and live states.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Possess expert skills and knowledge in product management techniques.
  • Customer-centric and pragmatic mindset.
  • Focused on value delivery and swift execution, while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Relevant qualification or demonstrated experience.
  • No prior experience in the energy industry required.
