Senior Product Designer

Description
About LloydsDirect

NHS prescriptions are complicated. And we want to change that. Driven by an innovative spirit and strong moral compass, we’re on a mission to make NHS prescriptions simple for everyone.

Since 2015 we’ve grown from a plucky start-up to a team of over 200 people – and become the fastest growing pharmacy in the UK. Today, over half a million people use our apps to manage their NHS prescriptions, and our patients rate us as ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot.

But there’s so much more to do. Because while 1 in 2 adults in the UK has a repeat prescription, only 3.2% of them use an online pharmacy. And we need bright minds to help us change how people manage their medicine for good.

True to our start-up roots, LloydsDirect has a supportive, entrepreneurial culture. We move fast, challenge the status quo, and always try to do the right thing. Sound good? Then we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do as Senior Product Designer
You’ll lead and champion design in one of our three product streams, shaping our patient experience and services. Day to day, you’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers, researchers, content designers and product managers.
You’ll advocate for our patients and put them at the heart of what you design. You’ll make our products simple, accessible and informative – and add a splash of delight where it’s relevant. Your aim will be to reassure our patients that they’re in good hands when it comes to their health.
Other responsibilities include: defining, developing and prioritising sprint work; writing tickets in sprint planning; keeping tabs on the success of each project and to ensure it meets our business and Product OKRs.

Our interview process
We know that applying for a new job takes effort, and we appreciate every application we receive. However, as we receive a large number of CVs and portfolios, we’re unable to respond to all applicants.

If you are invited to interview, here’s what you can expect.

First stage

Hello and introductions – 45 minutes – video call

Once we’ve reviewed your portfolio, we’ll get in touch to arrange a chat with one of our internal recruiters. They’ll find out a bit more about you, and tell you a little about LloydsDirect.

Second stage

Design chat – 30 minutes – video call
If all goes well, we’ll schedule a call with our Head of Design and one of our Product Designers. At this stage we’ll talk about design at LloydsDirect, ask you about your approach to design, and find out what your passions are as a Product Designer.

Case study review – 1 hour – video call

You’ll probably be happy to hear that we don’t set design tasks here. Instead, we’ll ask you to choose two or three case studies from your portfolio to talk us through. This will be with our Head of Design, a Product Designer and someone else from the wider product team.

Third stage

Ways of working – 45 minutes – video call
The final stage of the interview process is a ways of working meeting with members of the wider team such as Engineers, Data Analysts, Researchers or Content Designers. It will also be a good opportunity for you to ask questions and find out about our product teams.
