Product Owner, Peer Insights

This is a unique opportunity for a creative and charismatic individual to lead a key product development team for Gartner Peer Insights, a startup within Gartner. Our mission is to transform the way enterprise software is bought and sold by creating the industry standard for reviews and ratings. Less than two years in, we’ve collected over 30,000 verified reviews from enterprise end-users and are looking for a product owner to turn this rapidly growing trove of data into valuable experiences for enterprise buyers. Qualitative and quantitative market research is required in order to create valuable user experiences, and having great people skills is crucial. Just as important is the intuitive ability to move towards the important vs. the interesting. This becomes especially relevant as you lead technical and design teams to develop the product opportunities we uncover. Having a strong goal-orientation (vs. a task-orientation) and an anchoring on the client experience will help you navigate the decisions needed to build great products. Gartner Peer Insights is one of the highest profile initiatives we have at Gartner, and this role is the point of the spear.

Responsibilities

Serve as product owner for a scrum team focused on delivering value to our IT professional end-users through collaboration with UX designers and software developers

  • Implement a “lean” approach to product development where you and the team strive for early validated learnings that leads to shorter cycle times for delivering customer value
  • Spend 50% of your time thinking about and talking to current and potential customers to understand their needs and the opportunities these create for the product
  • Monitor and understand the competitive landscape and the implications for the product
  • Contribute to continually improving our product development processes
