Lead Designer, Design Systems

Full-Time Anywhere

ABOUT THE TEAM
Stitch Fix is transforming the way people find what they love. Our Product Design team is shaping the future of personalized products through deep empathy, data insights and strategic partnerships. We’re at the forefront of designing for algorithmically-assisted customer experiences, and our work inspires confidence in millions of people. Our consumer-facing design system, Mode, is essential to this work and future innovation.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Lead Product Designer on the design systems team, you will evolve the cross-platform (web, iOS, Android) design system that powers our customer-facing experience. You’ll partner across functions to help feature teams build polished, inclusive experiences for our clients by designing and iterating on components while guiding teams on the best ways to use them. Your work on the system will help drive innovation as well as elevating the quality and consistency of our end experience.

YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…
Partner with cross-functional teams to establish a vision for how our design system can inform innovative and complex areas of the customer experience.
Work with cross-platform design systems engineers to understand their perspective and needs, as well as inform the implementation of your designs so that the intentions of your design are carried through to the live experience.
Work independently and in collaboration with feature designers and engineers, to craft the components, features, and guidelines we need to deliver the best experience to our customers.
Impact the evolution of the Stitch Fix product by identifying ways we can better leverage user experience, visual design, inclusive design, and performance best practices, and when it’s best to push boundaries.
Maintain a horizontal view of the product experience to identify opportunities for greater consistency, efficiency, and quality through the design system.
Evaluate your design work with qualitative and quantitative methods, considering both our internal and end users.
Clearly communicate and document your recommendations and drive alignment in meetings both large and small with teammates, cross-functional partners and leadership.
Advocate for quality throughout every step of our product design and development process.
Inspire the teams around you and contribute your voice to the Product Design team by providing design feedback and thought leadership, mentoring and pairing with other designers, and growing the team culture and goals.
WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU…
Are a true systems thinker who has the ability to pay excellent attention to detail while considering the whole experience.

Have solid experience designing experiences across multiple platforms including fully responsive web, and native mobile.
Understand the basics of accessibility and inclusive design and are committed to ongoing education.

Can gracefully juggle multiple priorities and navigate between strategic work and detailed execution.
Bring a strong, unique perspective, and a combination of some of the following nice-to-haves: prototyping, motion, user research, illustration or iconography, or past experience with brand design.
Have experience working in and collaborating with a distributed team.
