About Linklaters
Linklaters are a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias, because we want everyone to feel that they belong. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common mind-set.
We recognise that one size does not fit all. Our goal is to embed flexibility across our firm by giving everyone the opportunity to work in an agile way, whether as a regular pattern or on an ad hoc basis, and we will be happy to discuss this further.
Purpose
Nakhoda is an award-winning, fast-paced legaltech start-up operating within Linklaters. Through our digital CLM platform, CreateiQ, we are reimagining how legal contracts are generated and negotiated. We have already gained significant traction in the market with several Fortune Global 500 companies as our users.
We are looking for a Product Manager who will have end-to-end responsibility for driving our product development process as we continue to grow our market coverage.
Your role will primarily involve executing on functionality, in addition to researching and understanding customer needs and user behaviour, evaluating the industry and competitive landscape, understanding the customer journey, contributing to our roadmap to deliver customer-centric products and finding a good working balance between process and agility.
You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, architects, designers, and lawyers to help develop the platform, ultimately delivering continued adoption and usage of the platform. You will act as the liaison between clients, Linklaters stakeholders and team members, and will be called upon to make key feature trade-off decisions.
Expectations of the role
- Drive end-to-end product development, working closely with development, design and other functions to ideate, define and execute on requirements, ultimately delivering on time and to specification
- Validating proposals with legal, sales and other teams across our stakeholder group, triaging feedback and adjusting requirements accordingly
- Carrying out and improving product methodologies that power our decision making, including but not limited to tracking usage metrics and conducting customer feedback processes
- Demonstrating continued awareness of the legaltech market with a view to identifying strategic product development opportunities and feeding into our product roadmap
What we are looking for
We expect our Product Managers to possess a broad base of skills and knowledge spanning digital technology, strategy and business planning, user experience design, engineering and agile/lean development practices. You must have an entrepreneurial drive to develop new products, while managing client needs and timeframes to broker complex relationships that evolve into real solutions. The ultimate success of your role hinges on your ability to work with and influence a multidisciplinary team as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Top three skills:
- Product management expertise with experience in all stages of the product life cycle and in rapid growth environments
- Experience working within an agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers, designers and other multi-disciplinary team members
- Great communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach based on your audience, i.e. technical and non-technical, internal and external stakeholders
To thrive and enjoy being part of this team, you will need to be:
- Mission driven and be excited by the potential of technology to change legal practice
- A team player
- Entrepreneurial, comfortable being both strategic and hands-on, while learning and adapting to new information and constraints
- Have passion and confidence in your own ideas, with the humility and resilience to embrace being wrong
- Analytic and independent – take ownership of projects and drive outcomes with minimal supervision but know that the team is always here to help so don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
We are looking for you to have at least 2 years of product management experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment developing enterprise solutions. A degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) and experience with legal processes is beneficial but not required.
