Placed is a mobile-first talent attraction and recruitment platform built for Gen Z and Millennials. Using intelligent profiling and algorithm-based matching, Placed reboots the online presence for employers and allows candidates to discover jobs in a brand new way.
Our vision is to disrupt the current recruitment process for placing junior to mid-level positions in high churn service industries and become the global leader within our space.. Our clients include major retailers, hospitality, logistics and care companies including O2, Whitbread, Greene King, Co-op, Lidl, Bupa and E.ON.
In 2022, Placed is expanding fast. We are launching in various new cities across the UK and are looking to triple our current team size within the next 9-12 months. We are looking for someone who is extremely passionate and excited to be a part of a mission-driven start-up that is changing the face of recruitment.
📣 A bit about the role.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Product Director to lead product development at Placed. You will work closely with the founders on the product vision and translating ideas into strategy while working directly with our customers.
You will be responsible for creating a culture of product excellence at Placed and will lead and build out the existing team over the course of the next year. You will report into our CTO. This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who loves a challenge.
📱 A bit about our product.
We have a two-sided product (B2B and B2C) with a strong matching algorithm which is the core to our success.
B2C – a mobile App laser focussed on the candidates and creating a relevant and empowering experience for Gen Z job seekers. We want to make job-seeking fun. Placed removes CVs and long cover letters and allows candidates to instead match with jobs based on values and culture as well as giving them access to a community full of resources. Our apps are used by over 150,000 job seekers with a daily growth of 500.
B2B – an enterprise software that allows companies of all sizes to attract and engage with the new generation of talent. We gather data points from our clients hiring process to identify their patterns and help them automate as much as possible. We integrate with large HR software and our platform is already used by some of the UK’s largest companies.
Take ownership and drive the future roadmap based on the business strategy
Work closely with the executive team to define, refine and improve the product strategy & roadmap
Develop a deep understanding of the needs of customers and candidates
Align stakeholders, direct the product roadmap, prioritise features, build consensus, and coordinate product schedules with the wider business
Foster a culture of testing and continuous improvement through data-driven decision making
Provide actionable information and insights to help drive key decisions
Be hands-on – as a small team, you will initially own elements of the product as we scale the team

5+ years experience leading a product function
You have a commercial mindset
You are skilled in developing hypotheses, validating them through A/B testing and presenting results
You have a strong background within product management, preferably with experience in marketplaces or SaaS products
A passion for beautiful products – obsessing over simplicity, clarity, and pixel perfection
You are creative and enjoy problem-solving
You have strong analytical skills
