Freelance Product Manager (Out of Game Experience)

Freelance Contract, 3 days per week
Location:  Mainly remote, working in UK time-zone, with a few days per month in person in London (we’re currently fully remote due to Covid)

We’re Teach Your Monster, a non-profit that creates magical, fun-filled learning games for kids. We’re on the lookout for a 3 days per week Freelance Product Manager for our Out of Game Experience.

You will take ownership of our website, underlying technology (API) and the user hub (teacher and parent area).   With multiple games globally released now, we’re looking to create a holistic Teach your Monster experience for teachers and parents, and children playing our games and create long-lasting relationships with teachers and parents so more kids benefit more from our games.

What we’re looking for

As the Product Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to set and deliver on strategic milestones (game teams, marketing, design, etc.)
  • Support and lead a cross-functional product team and subject matter experts in product discovery and delivery
  • Ensure security, privacy, uptime and accessibility standards are met
  • Maintain transparency and alignment across the organisation and improve collaboration between the OOG and game teams in TYM
  • Provide input for staffing and hiring decisions: subject matter experts and project-related ad-hoc needs

As the product manager, you will own tactical goal setting and the product roadmap. You will set, monitor and report on both qualitative and quantitative success measures for better investment decisions across the whole product development lifecycle. You will create and maintain structured ways of planning, research, development and go to market processes. To successfully work with the game and marketing teams, you’ll likely have experiences facilitating strategic and tactical discussions, and have a good understanding of experimentation and evaluation strategies for products in various lifecycle stages.

As the product manager, you will maintain a culture of evidence-driven decision making and regular experimentation to deliver impactful, simple solutions in an agile development context. You’ll champion quantitative and qualitative research methods, and proactively report out to the rest of the organisation.

Working across the organisation you will practice open, candid communication and create structured ways to share learnings across the teams. You will be a role model for TYM’s culture and values, addressing issues where behaviours are not demonstrated and aim to create a high performing culture. You’ll support and encourage good cross-functional communication & collaboration.
