Product Manager

Full-Time Home and / or office based (Victoria, London) Salary: £37,000 per year Closes: 2022-01-30

The vacancy

Every hour, two people are diagnosed with Parkinson’s. In fact, it’s the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. So we urgently need new treatments, more support for people living with the condition and more funds to find a cure. In the last 50 years, we’ve invested more than £100 million in cutting-edge research to uncover the causes of Parkinson’s. We believe we’re close to finding a solution. But not close enough. That’s why we need more people like you.

2022 is a big year for Parkinson’s UK and Parkinson’s Connect – our new information and support service. After building our service blueprint and delivering MVPs of our key products, we’ve got ambitious plans to expand their reach to the growing number of people with Parkinson’s and their family and friends.

With a number of new products now live, we’re looking to establish product visions and develop longer term roadmaps. As part of a team of product, tech, design and research experts, you’ll bring this to life and help Parkinson’s Connect deliver on its ambitious plans of reaching 80% of people with Parkinson’s by 2024.

The role

The product you’ll be responsible for is at the centre of our service offer – where we hold information on our clients and where our advisers manage their interactions. Part of our Salesforce suite of products, it will become a vital part of the service as we grow over the coming months and years, maximising the value delivered by our adviser service, building greater connections between parts of the service and moving towards a stronger single view that will help us provide even more meaningful and personalised support.

You’ll jointly create and own the product vision with service delivery colleagues, build a plan for how to achieve that and represent the product in wider service conversations. You’ll also support the day to day use of the product with the support of technical experts, constantly looking for ways to improve the experience by engaging with users and acting on insights.

What we’re looking for

We believe that product management is as much about the mindset and approach as it is about technical knowledge.

We’re looking for someone with experience and knowledge in building great experiences for users, someone who’s able to build and shape a vision for a product in collaboration with others, and is confident in communicating and demonstrating the impact of this to key stakeholders.

We also want someone who is confident in translating between technical requirements and user needs to maximise impact. Given the nature of the product, experience in handling sensitive data, complex process design and/or client record system experience is a bonus but not necessary.

In return, we offer all the convenience of home/office working plus an exceptional package of benefits including flexible hours, 25 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme with generous employer contribution and an employee assistance programme, plus extensive investment in your professional development.

So if you can build a cutting-edge experience, please apply by sending us your CV, together with a detailed supporting statement which will fully demonstrate how you meet all the criteria of the role, as stated in the “What you’ll bring” section of the job description.

Closing date: 30 January 2022

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 14 February 2022.

We welcome applications from people from all sections of the community, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief. We actively encourage people with Parkinson’s to apply.
