Product Manager

Full-Time Anywhere

As the Product Manager leading consumer mobile app development at Helm, you’ll work with a talented team to “crack the code” on civic engagement. You’ll discover what guides someone up the ladder of civic engagement and help translate those learnings into production. Ultimately, you’ll develop and unleash a flywheel of growth and civic engagement.

About You

A curious, engaged product manager who takes the initiative and values empathy, problem-solving, and impact. You are excited about creating a more participatory democracy and lowering the barriers and friction associated with civic engagement. You have the skills to translate your excitement into product velocity and a positive, empowering company culture. You’re a leader – eager to motivate a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team to develop consumer mobile applications. You default toward action and ownership, and you’re comfortable making (and communicating) judgment calls in the context of incomplete information.

About the Role

As the Product Manager leading consumer mobile app development at Helm, you’ll work with a talented team to “crack the code” on civic engagement. You’ll discover what guides someone up the ladder of civic engagement and help translate those learnings into production. Ultimately, you’ll develop and unleash a flywheel of growth and civic engagement.

You’ll join 4 other Product Managers developing a family of mobile and web consumer and enterprise applications – all focused on driving increased civic engagement. Through your work to help (1) empower community-based “hidden leaders” to more effectively organize and (2) lower the friction for community members looking to engage, you’ll directly contribute to the strengthening of our democracy and have a measurable impact in the 2022 political cycle.

What You’ll Do:

  • Guide the development and deployment of an engaging, empowering consumer mobile experience
  • Build a rapid innovation process together with Design, Research, and Engineering, synthesizing input and Helm’s vision into features, functional requirements, and a living backlog
  • Roll up your sleeves and conduct end-to-end research and experiments, from generating hypotheses to developing scripts, wireframes, and prototypes to deploying, analyzing, and incorporating findings into product decisions. Develop a perspective rigorously, then champion that viewpoint across the organization.
  • Be a key driver of our consumer product strategy, including long-term vision, user segment insights, innovative behavioral science interventions and best practices – and ultimately, thought leadership on how to empower leaders to drive greater civic engagement in their communities
  • Communicate updates, learnings, risks, opportunities, and decision points to align senior leadership and stakeholders on ongoing work. Provide effective written and verbal updates on the product roadmap and key projects
  • Collaborate with the data team to leverage Helm’s Civic Graph in new features and insights: granular individual-level characteristics, model scores, and polling data
