We’re looking for a Product Designer who loves to create intuitive and visually stunning user interfaces that make navigating a complex app simple. You’ll experiment, design, and iterate on solutions for our customers in over 100 countries.
Cobot develops apps to manage coworking and flexible workspaces and deliver a frictionless experience for members. Our customers are community-focused, design-oriented, innovative brands driving new ways of work and collaboration.
You will work directly with our CPO and a team of user researchers and developers to maintain, improve, and extend Cobot’s UI; ensure that all user-facing parts of Cobot are beautiful, consistent and intuitive; and you’ll be part of a team that genuinely cares about each other.
Unique Challenges and Opportunities:
- Design-driven by real users’ stories—we’re on a first-name basis with our customers. We use lightweight methods to collect actionable insights on solutions.
- Help us develop, test, and launch a major redesign—our brand and UI are due for a refresh, you’ll play a major role in that process.
- Bring our design system to the next level—use your keen eye for detail to ensure consistency and help us refine our design system.
What you will be doing:
- Work across teams with developers, support, and communications specialists
- Create prototypes in Adobe XD (or a tool of your choice)
- Learn about, use, and teach your team new design trends and tools
- Contribute across all phases of design work, evaluating concepts, determining MVPs, and validating solutions with the help of researchers
- Take pride in your work, enjoy collaborating with your coworkers, and go home on time
This job requires the ability to occasionally work alongside our team in Berlin. During the Covid-19 pandemic you’ll have the option to work from home (we continue to provide a workspace for anyone on the team who wants to work in company).
In safer times for travel, a part of your job will include attending team off-sites, coworking industry events, and design conferences.
What you need to bring:
- 3+ years paid experience in a product design role
Ability to untangle complex user needs, visualize them in e.g. journey maps or flow charts, and develop simple solutions - Ability to work with teammates who trust each other enough to show work in progress, and a willingness to pivot between iterations
- You rapidly bring prototypes to high fidelity, and love to iterate on mockups until every state and edge case is pixel-perfect
- Deep expertise in UI Design, and the skill and willingness to support the creation of design assets
- You name your layers and watch youtube videos on 100 shortcuts to orchestrate your tools like a composer
- Strong skills in responsive design and mobile first-thinking
- Basic knowledge about how the web works: modern browser technologies, HTML and CSS, and accessibility
- An eye for details and the drive to build an excellent user experience
- The habit of putting team and customer needs over design trends and dogmas
- Ability to communicate efficiently in English, our team language
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- User research, e.g. user interviews, A/B-Testing
- Coding—we’re a team of product-minded developers and very technical designers, and if you enjoy HTML/CSS/SVG etc, there is room for you to contribute.
We recognize there is no “complete” candidate and that you may feel the need for further development in some areas. We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all of the requirements for the role.
We welcome candidates enthusiastic about learning and growing. However you identify and whatever your background, if this looks like a role where you could do work that excites you, we hope you’ll apply!
Benefits:
- Flexible work hours (40h/week) and a culture that respects your set hours

- A fund for education, i.e. conferences, books, courses, etc.
- Work alongside (and learn from) a team of experienced and community-prolific developers and UI designers
- We are proud to operate under a Code of Conduct designed by the team
