Responsible for executing product development plans for Bloomberg Tax Provision to maximize growth and retention of revenue. Works closely with customer experience, editorial, other business stakeholders, and select groups of customers and prospects to define product roadmap and requirements. Continually prioritizes development initiatives and backlog of features and user stories and partners with the scrum master to drive agile team(s) to execute and create innovative solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Creates product roadmap and outlines objectives based on market insights, competitive intelligence, customer visits, and customer usage data.  Refines strategy and direction based on usability outreaches, market feedback and significant developments.
Shepherds development from ideation and proposal stage through evaluation, development, GTM planning and launch.  Acts as the primary product advocate to both internal and external stakeholders and collaborates with editorial, customer experience, and marketing teams to effectively bring new products and enhancements to market.

Executes product development plans in a timely manner to create winning products, features and functionality.  Develops user stories and acceptance criteria for all new features and functionality, presents user stories to the team, and ensures new features/functionality meet the acceptance criteria.
Works with Scrum Master(s), R&D and Global Data teams to drive development initiatives and successful releases.  Creates and prioritizes the product backlog to establish an appropriate mix of development priorities to allow for high impact product enhancements in addition to incremental user enhancements.  Participates in Scrum meetings of developers to deliver maximum value, innovation and quality to the market.

Reports the status of projects and related changes and developments, ensuring projects are completed according to schedule, with appropriate input from stakeholders, including customer experience, editorial, and marketing teams.  Reviews and assesses completed projects and applies findings to product improvements.

Works with technical experts and customers to continually build and improve understanding of the target market and user base to serve as a product expert in the relevant product domain(s) and drive smarter product decisions.  Identifies, analyzes and presents opportunities for content licensing, acquisition, partnerships and strategic acquisitions in assigned product area(s).

Presents product enhancements and concepts and collects feedback at select customer visits, sales calls, and industry events and conferences.

Collaborates with other Product Managers to share best practices and ensure interdependencies are understood and prioritized appropriately across teams.

Utilizes usage data and analytics to monitor product utility, validate usage assumptions, and uncover trends to continuously refine and improve offerings.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

  • A passion for identifying and solving user problems and driving product adoption with differentiated and innovative software solutions.
  • Understanding of the legal and tax research market and related research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development best practices and Lean software development principles.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leveraging outcomes without direct reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or similar work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in product development/project management role designing, building and implementing B2B online applications.
  • Technical or programming skills, a plus.

Special Requirements:

Certified Product Owner or Pragmatic Marketing certification desirable.
