As a Senior User Experience Researcher in Futurehome, you will be part of our Product Software & Service team responsible for creating empowering experiences for our customers. You will work alongside Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to build highly usable and delightful products. More importantly, you will have the opportunity and the resources to build the foundations of a world-class Research practice within Futurehome. ### Responsibilities
– Establish and nurture a state-of-the-art research discipline within our organization, collaborating with the Product, Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams.
– Identify our customer’s pain points and goals over time and build research strategies addressing those.
– Follow the behavioral, societal, and industrial changes to identify the significant shifts that will impact our products and market.
– Build a data-centric culture by translating the information gathered during research into actionable insights and opportunities for our Product team.
– Promote and foster a transparent, positive, and healthy ResearchOps discipline that will promote a cross-functional research practice within the company.
– Take complete ownership of the research portion of the initiatives you will be involved in.
### Core Skills
– Have a high level of understanding and experience in designing experiments and conducting user-centered design processes using modern quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research techniques. Find out which research frameworks are best suited for each initiative.
– Run field studies and interviews on-site and remotely to examine user behavior and attitudes. This role requires frequent travels for you to understand better the challenges faced by our users, as there is a physical dimension to our lineup of products.
– Run workshops with our team and external stakeholders to ideate, prioritize, and validate solutions.
– Use product analytics and descriptive statistical techniques to extract valuable information and insights from the data. Work alongside Data Analysts for complex analysis.
– Operate on a day-to-day basis openly and transparently, sharing your work early and often and proactively seeking feedback from the relevant individuals or groups when necessary.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling you to articulate your concepts, defend your experiments and results and drive alignment with a diverse crowd of stakeholders.
– Documentation-first mindset. Consistently prepare detailed documentation for all the research initiatives launched.
– Deeply value cross-functional collaboration and communication. Able to work alongside other teams, particularly product management and engineering, and talk in their language. Be a helper, someone people love to work with, consistently positively communicating the value of great design within the whole organization.
– Operate on a day-to-day basis openly and transparently, sharing your work early and often and proactively seeking feedback from the relevant individuals or groups when necessary.
– Regularly evaluate existing research processes and tooling and makes recommendations when something can be improved.
– Mentor junior talent.
### Nice to have
– Experience leading research activities at scale, running studies on thousands of users or more.
– Experience using data visualizations to inform and illustrate your research insights.
– Published academic or industry-related articles on topics such as HCI, Anthropology, Ethnography, Sociology, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, etc.
– Experience transforming complex concepts into bits manageable by a diverse audience of non-technical end-users.
– Experience with data manipulation and computational statistics using languages such as Python, R, Matlab, and with SQL.
– Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities.
– Experience working in a Scandinavian context.
– Experience working in IoT.
