Product Analytics Leader – Build our program

Full-Time Anywhere

We are looking for someone adroit with product analytics and statistical analysis – as well as building relationships and understanding stakeholder true needs – to join our USER INSIGHTS team and build a burgeoning product analytics function, which will be new to Hyland. Over the next two years, you will build a small team who will gift product and executive leadership with core insights they never dreamed of, starting with infrastructure, data analysis, and reporting in year one and adding data science in year two to help us expand into predictive insights.

Position sits in my User Experience and Insights (UX+I) team and works very closely with our team of user researchers as well as our product managers. This team reports up to Product Management.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the implementation functioning and troubleshooting of our product analytics tools including liaising with engineers who will insert code into the product codebase and create filters as needed
  • Establish an analytical framework for product teams enabling ad-hoc analysis automated dashboards and self-service reporting tools to surface data to partners to monitor the performance of our products and to surface data to partners
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform product strategies by defining and updating core metrics for key initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal departments utilizing qualitative and mixed methods to answer research questions using data
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on best practices and aid in creating a long-term vision and strategy roadmap through analytics to prioritize the most valuable projects and create sustainable data processes
  • Evangelize data-driven decision making across our product experience teams
  • Define and track KPIs to support strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal departments in data sharing and ad-hoc reporting needs
  • Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends; provide general consulting services leveraging expertise and significant best practice knowledge
  • Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends
  • Mentor coach train and provide feedback to other team members.

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of analytics experience in a Saas product organization or a high-velocity high-growth product or business unit
  • Experience with and extensive knowledge of both Pendo and Google Analytics
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience designing and assessing impact of A/B experiments in a fast-paced product development cycle
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with a leadership presence
  • Excellent organizational multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain productive pleasing relationships with team members as well as maintain thought-leader rapport and professionalism with those outside of department
  • Excellent data gathering interviewing and analytical/problem solving skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Use original thinking to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutions

  • Experience and/or a genuine drive to understand the user’s point of view and explain it along with data to indicate scale
  • Expert knowledge of product analytics tools such as Pendo and Google Analytics
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau or Power BI
  • Knowledge of R or Python preferred
  • Advanced SQL knowledge preferred
  • HTML and CSS knowledge preferred
  • Up to 10% travel time required
