About the role:

We are looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the product direction of several of our projects. Whilst client-drive, the projects have clear potential to lead to the creation of fully-fledged products and platforms.

In this exciting role, you’ll have the opportunity to be autonomous and really have an impact. You’ll be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from detailing the vision and shape of new products through to managing their development and seeing them through to launch with the client. This means you’re someone who is comfortable managing stakeholders – both internal and external.

Whilst our products cover a range of topics, they are predominately centred around data and analytics capabilities across various industries, including financial services and retail. As such you’ll need to be someone who is used to handling and interpreting data and doesn’t shy away from a challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the development and roadmap for one or more products within the QuantSpark portfolio
  • Work directly with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into a product vision, roadmap, and development activities
  • Lead key meetings, including agile ceremonies, client workshops, product demos
  • Manage a prioritised backlog of development activities, clearly defining product requirements and acceptance criteria’s
  • Manage project roadmaps, development activities and technical documentation using Product management tools such as Jira, Confluence and Asana
  • Work with the business development team to identify new product development opportunities

Experience required

  • An advanced analytical mindset and some prior experience using these skills within a business environment
  • Confident communicator and deft negotiator, with an ability to communicate complex, often technical, topics effectively to a wide range of audiences (client facing and internal)

  • Technical creativity and grit, with a desire to constantly learn and improve
  • Experience managing multiple senior stakeholders and/or clients
  • Experience leading projects and product delivery using agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with Project and Product management tools, such as; Jira, Confluence and Asana
  • Familiarity with data science concepts and a keen interest to develop your knowledge in this space
  • We welcome applications from any educational background, but a STEM background is preferred. We don’t expect you to be brilliant at everything, but we value a broad set of competencies, so any interest in data science or strategy would be appreciated as well.

Nice to have

  • Experience working within a business analytics / data science / development team
  • A Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent

You should have experience in some of the following:

  • Familiarity with data pipelines, warehouses and ETL processes
  • Client-facing software product management (whole lifecycle and across multiple products simultaneously)
  • Experience working with clients and stakeholders to understand product requirements, before breaking them down into development items and story points
  • Experience working in a business analytics / data science / statistics environment
  • Working with and supporting teams of software developers, data scientists and engineers
  • Demonstratable experience in delivering project outputs to a high standard (e.g. project briefs, PowerPoint decks)
  • An analytical mindset and some prior experience using these skills within a business environment

What we can give you:

  • Salary between £40,000 –  £50,000 (based on experience)
