Job Description
The Office of Global Outreach and Extended Education (GOEE) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team player ready to make a difference in the rewarding field of education. Come join a dynamic team as a Product Development Manager to support the design and implementation of an innovative portfolio of professional education and upskilling programs. These programs provide a direct impact to engineers and technical professionals, equipping them with additional skills and knowledge to master new tools, lead technical projects and teams, and advance professionally in their field.
This position creates product roadmaps and provides direction in the development and delivery of innovative products and solutions. Bridges the technical and business worlds in the design of services with a bias toward action and breaking down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Responsible for working closely across cross-functional teams to implement and sustain a great user experience for a digital education portfolio, creating academic partnerships, and product implementation strategies. Resolves customer issues or other disruptions to great user experience.
This is an on-site position based on the ASU Tempe campus.
Salary Range
$63,050 – $85,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
Reporting to the Director of Global Outreach and Extended Education, this position works directly with faculty, staff, instructional designers, multimedia developers, and external partners to design and produce digital, non-credit online course offerings/programs for large audiences.
Conceptualization, development, and analytics of programs deployed on both Canvas (ASU’s Learning Management System) and external partner platforms (Coursera, edX, other).
Understands and communicates customer needs and product vision, providing rapid feedback to technology team; steers projects to ensure delivery of business value.
Researches, recommends, and pilots new technology to improve the teaching and learning process, enhancing the learner experience.
Creates, maintains, prioritizes and sequences backlog of technology products based on business value and integration/support of stated objectives, strategies, and goals.
Works with stakeholders and is on hand during the course of the product’s projects to answer questions, make difficult decisions and assure the project is on track.
Develops and maintains standards for testing and progress visibility, reports on milestones; advocates/negotiates additional resources as appropriate to ensure achievement of objectives consistent with requestor’s expectations/needs
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing or related field AND 8 years product/program management, project management, management consulting OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Evidence of a Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years of experience in learning and development. Included in the 3 total years of preferred experience, at least 1 year of experience managing a learning management system; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Experience with Canvas as an LMS, Coursera, and other platforms
Higher education experience preferred, working closely with faculty and subject matter experts (SME) from concept to deployment.
Demonstrated understanding of the process to develop an online course (training, academic, etc.) from inception and planning to final delivery.
Demonstrated knowledge with project management tools, such as Smartsheet or ClickUp.
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%). Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%). Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
