Head of Product

About Us

In our current age, the skills required to succeed in a given role are changing faster than ever before, leaving companies with large skills gaps in their workforce and leaving managers unsure of how to address them.

At Spotted Zebra, we help enterprise clients to solve the evolving skills gap problem by giving them access to incredibly granular, employee level data that they’ve never seen before. With our cutting edge analytics platform, senior executives can now measure the skills that exist across their entire workforce, see where critical gaps exist and take corrective action to address them in their hiring, development and internal mobility efforts.

With our existing clients, including several FTSE100 companies, we’re already seeing the massive impact that skills-based decision making can have on organisational performance, diversity, culture and managerial insight.

We’re a profitable business and we’ve just closed a funding round led by a top European VC fund. We’re now putting the right team in place to help accelerate our growth and become the leader in the multi-billion dollar workforce planning technology market.

The Role

We’re searching for someone to own all things product. Working closely with our head of engineering, you’ll work on the continued design and build of our core talent platform and the applications it powers.

As our first product hire, you’ll work directly with our founders and have significant influence over setting our product strategy, building and implementing our product roadmap and delivering our products into the hands of our ever expanding client base.

The ultimate aim is to build highly functional products that meet the needs of our users. Of course, a significant part of the fun will be figuring out exactly what those user needs are. You’ll also need to scale up the team to bring on board the resources needed to meet the demands of our customers and market.

Responsibilities

You’ll build our product function from the ground up and help us win in our market by:

Leveraging customer data, competitive research and your understanding of our strategy to evaluate product opportunities and ensure that we’re solving the right problems for the right users;
Working with our founders and other stakeholders (our customers, engineering and customer success teams, etc.) to set our long-term product vision, strategy, goals and metrics;
Building our product roadmap and contribute to our go-to-market strategy;
Delivering on that roadmap by working with the Head of Engineering, the engineering team and designers from ideation, technical design and development to the testing and delivery to production environments;
Designing customer-first experiences that drive engagement and revenue;
Continuously improving execution velocity by creating effective collaboration models, processes, and operations;
Hiring, growing and mentoring a team around you, including a product design function.

Requirements

You’ve built innovative products from scratch and understand start-up culture;
You’re driven by user research and data and are obsessed with using qualitative and quantitative research to deliver value to end users;
You have a track record of engaging with customers with a co-innovation mindset, understanding and describing novel aspects of their use cases and creating value by solving their biggest problems;
You’re known as a critical thinker who rigorously questions ideas and assumptions, rather than accepting them at face value;
You have a solid understanding of technology development best practices (Agile, etc.) and product management methodologies;
You’re interested in the use of AI and understand its core principles and pros and cons.
Benefits
