Purpose
Learnlight is seeking a natural leader with a strong technical background, to become a member of our growing, motivated and amazing product and development team. You will spearhead many items including pilot programmes, integration rollouts, and delivering product roadmap initiatives for some of the world’s most iconic companies.

 

As Senior Product Owner, you will play an instrumental role in our product’s success by aligning the team behind the right initiatives that bring the most value to our clients and internal users. You will own the product backlog, ensuring the appropriate prioritization of activities to improve business value delivered. Some of your core responsibilities involve keeping stakeholders informed of the initiatives you own, inspire the team to always want to be at their best, oversee product dependencies and work with the rest of the team to prioritize the right items at the right time.

Responsibilities
STAKEHOLDER ALIGNMENT

»        Communicate the vision, plans, objectives and progress to both your team and stakeholders.

»        Collaborate with Product Managers to formulate our product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

»        Communicate project status to stakeholders and team members throughout the course of a project.

»        Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to update them on progress and address concerns.

»        Inform stakeholders of released features and/or any productions issues.

»        Manage cross-product dependencies.

TEAM COLLABORATION

»        Work with developers to ensure that requirements can be translated into functional prototypes or finished products.

»        Lead stand-ups and refinement sessions with the team.

»        Review tickets and transition them accordingly when your input is required/needed.

»        Be present during deployment to production and ready to mitigate risks.

PRIORITIZATION & BACKLOG MANAGEMENT

»        Own the product backlog, balancing conflicting priorities to determine prioritization.

»        Prioritize and sequence the product backlog to provide the most value.

»        Be accountable for the independent delivery of value to stakeholders by ensuring that the right product is defined, prioritized, and built.

»        Proactively manage and prioritize the product, release, and backlogs according to business value, complexity, and expectations.

»        Advocate for and manage the value of the product release.

»        Convert business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.

»        Own and maintain the product backlog and the release plans.

RELEASE UPDATES

»        Keep the content release in line with delivery expectations using our project management tool (Jira software).

»        Update the Release notes with details relevant to your stakeholders.

Education & Experience:

»         3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner in a software organization

»        Strong technical background

»        Significant experience working as part of an Agile development team

»        Good knowledge of risk/scope management and Agile software development

»        Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA, Confluence

»        You can translate ideas into practical solutions
