The platform at Aqemia is responsible for defining the tracks available for drug discovery projects. It plays two successive roles. First, it creates a list of potentially valuable projects to be developed by the portfolio team, and second, it supports the portfolio drug discovery projects in their development.

The platform is composed of three teams: target ranking, hit identification, and hit optimization. To achieve their goals, they work with the infra team, which provides them with easy-to-use, scalable, and cost-efficient compute capabilities and a data stack.

The first internal product of the platform is the Rocket Launcher. It is Aqemia’s workflow that encompasses target selection to the experimental validation of potential hits. It serves as our kickstarter for drug discovery projects on a large scale and in a systematic manner. The Rocket Launcher brings together multiple technological building blocks developed by the target ranking, hit identification, and infra teams. Additionally, the platform teams utilize the feedback loop of the Rocket Launcher to continuously evolve and improve their technology.
